During Corn Congress held at Commodity Classic last week, the South Dakota Corn Growers Association introduced a resolution to the National Corn Growers Association policy book. The resolution was unanimously approved by delegates. The resolution read, "We shall defend important corn uses from attacks and governmental policies that are based upon misleading or unscientific information." Trent Kubik, President of the South Dakota Corn Growers Association, said the resolution is about ensuring policies remain grounded in science and fairness for products already in the marketplace. “We need to defend the markets we currently have, especially when the products our markets produce are scientifically based and proven safe. These products are no different than others already on the market,” said Trent Kubik, President of the South Dakota Corn Growers Association. “This is science-based and consistent with other products available today. That’s why we introduced this resolution, and we’re pleased it was unanimously passed here at Corn Congress.”
