Senate Ag Committee Republicans
@SenateAgGOP
Updates from the office of Chairman @JohnBoozman (R-AR), U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry.

Great to welcome Benton County 4-H members to the Capitol. I enjoyed visiting with them about civic engagement, opportunities to serve in government and how we're working to advance Farm Bill 2.0 to support Arkansas farmers, ranchers and rural communities for years to come. #ARinDC #BuiltForTheFuture

A modernized Farm Bill means more certainty for America’s farm families, rural communities and food supply. The Farm Bill 2.0 discussion draft is designed to earn bipartisan support and become law.

It was great to be in the @4029news studio with Yuna Lee to talk about the Farm Bill 2.0 discussion draft and other news. Catch our conversation On The Record in NW Arkansas as soon as this weekend.

The Senate recently released its Farm Bill discussion draft. I’m glad Chairman Boozman and @SenateAgGOP included my priorities to support Nebraska farmers and ranchers. That includes: - FENCE Act, to expand flexibility for farmers and ranchers recovering from disaster - Flood Protection and Infrastructure Resilience Act, to help communities recover from disasters and reduce future damage - Rural Microentrepreneurs Act, to strengthen rural small businesses - Organic Imports Verification Act, to increase oversight of fake organic products imported by foreign nations - AFIDA Improvements Act, to require online reporting of ag land owned by foreign adversaries like Communist China - SNAP Staffing Flexibility Act, to reduce SNAP backlogs I will keep fighting for these priorities as we advance the farm bill.

Producers have been sounding the alarm for years that Congress needs to address the workforce crisis we have on our hands in farm country. Today, I introduced the Securing Agriculture’s Workforce Act of 2026 in order to bring the H-2A visa program into the 21st century. Farmers need solutions, and this bill makes practical reforms to expand access, control costs, and cut down on red tape.

This week marks one year since President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill became law — delivering historic Working Families Tax Cuts that are putting American farmers first. 🇺🇸🚜 Thanks to @POTUS, we’re protecting and strengthening agriculture with major wins: ✅ 2 Million Family Farms Saved from the higher death tax ✅ Expanded Affordable Crop Insurance with better risk management tools for livestock, aquaculture, honeybees, and specialty crops ✅ Supporting a New Generation of Farmers by allowing capital gains tax deferral on farmland sales — paying over 4 years instead of a lump sum ✅ Greater Access to Credit — qualified lenders can now exclude 25% of interest income on real estate used for production These reforms are protecting prime American farmland, keeping farms in family hands, and building a stronger future for rural America. Thank you, @POTUS!

An updated farm bill is long overdue. America’s farmers, ranchers and foresters deserve the certainty and support they need to keep feeding, fueling and clothing our nation.
