It was great to see former Senator Pat Roberts for a long-overdue unveiling of his official @SenateAgGOP portrait. I consider myself deeply fortunate to have served with him, and I can think of no one more deserving of having his time as Senate Agriculture chairman recognized.

Arkansas farmer Elizabeth Walker didn’t plan to return to agriculture after college, but she helped build Lucky 13 Farm in Sevier County from the ground up. She exemplifies that farming isn’t just a lifestyle, it’s a calling. “Agriculture is important to me because it's the heartbeat of rural America. It feeds our nation, sustains our rural communities, and gives families like mine the opportunity to build a life rooted in hard work and purpose,” Walker said. We worked to secure $21B in disaster assistance, and now @USDA is using the remaining funding to issue a second round of SDRP payments for producers impacted in 2023–2024, raising support from 35% to 70% to deliver more relief as our farmers recover and continue producing, with the deadline extended to Aug. 12, 2026. hoeven.senate.gov/newsroom/press…

Always a privilege to sit down and talk with the Mississippi Cattlemen's Association. We had a candid conversation about the real challenges that producers are navigating right now, both in Mississippi and across the country, and viable paths forward as we continue to work toward a new Farm Bill. The Working Families @TaxCuts Act modernized the farm safety net to address high input costs and low commodity prices pinching farmers’ bottom lines. With planting season underway, Sen. @ChuckGrassley is working with Chairman @JohnBoozman to get a five-year Farm Bill to the president’s desk and provide more certainty for America’s farmers who feed and fuel the world.

From a 4-H market lamb project to leading a statewide organization, Liz Wilder’s love for agriculture has come full circle. Today, she raises registered Suffolks and club lambs and serves as Executive Director of the Idaho Wool Growers Association, in addition to running a direct-to-consumer lamb business with her husband in Caldwell, Idaho. Her story is a great example of how engaging in agriculture early can grow into a lifelong role. We celebrate her leadership, advocacy and hard work during the #YearoftheWomanFarmer. 🐑
