Probably the Brits kept the telegram and didn’t deliver it to him until the day of the fight. After retiring,became a successful businessman on Wall Street

@TheFightGallery It's even harder when people bash the subject matter without even reading it. He overcame adversity to win Olympic Gold and 2 titles stayed out of trouble, proper role model who would shake hands and sign autographs for anyone even those who say he was a failure at heavy

HR hitters get all the love but every coach I had including John Stearns said baseball is about getting on base and scoring runs. Using that metric the top 5 has to include Hank, Cobb, Bonds, Henderson, and Rose

It's always worse to fight a guy that you've sparred with. Especially, if you dominated him in sparring.
Never show too much in sparring, you may have to fight that guy one day
