Ironically arrested ones are from states(Uttarakhand, Manipur, Nepal) with same Mongoloid features , I have seen this word used by people from other states for people of Uttarakhand, Manipur, and NE States , communities that themselves are often subjected to the same stereotype and the same slur across the country have targeted Angel Chakma. I’ve personally experienced this too, being called “Chinki” or “Nepali” in Pune , and “Bihari” or “Mayang” while serving in the Northeast. One community which faces most serious racism is Biharis, be it Maharashtra, Punjab or NE states , just see the number of incidents where they have been attacked physically and mentally (Most recently in Karbi Anglong) But they let it pass with smile and keep focus on hard work. This isn’t isolated racism, it’s a culture of mocking others from the comfort of a majority space. When people know they won’t be challenged, abuse becomes “normal” jokes become weapons, and prejudice gets masked as casual banter. That normalization is more dangerous than open hatred. That said, this particular case may have more layers to it, and it would be premature to draw conclusions. Time and a fair investigation will reveal the full truth.
