The name of the group included the name freestyle Libre and they claimed an infringement of copyright. I can see their point of view and protecting their brand is important but this is a sad loss for #peersupport. I have written to @AbbottNews expressing my sadness.

When the freestyle Libre first launched in the UK I set up a face book group for Libre users. The group had grown to more than 17,000 members and provided a lot of peer support to people with diabetes across the globe. Sadly the @AbbottNews had the group closed down today.

@PracticalDeeb @ypsomed @Rocktape I found these sites to be quite irritable. Skintac was quite a good barrier. But I'm now using the ypsopimp inset sites (basically same as the Medtronic mio) and they are much less irritating.

@PracticalDeeb @abbottaustralia These are the single funded meter in NZ. The dual meter is a great function. However, the meter does not have temperature sensors so struggles at low and high temps. I self fund an accuchek so the caresens is my back up because of this. Looking forward to hearing how you find it

The folks at i-sens/Pharmaco have sent me a CareSens Dual to try out. As a glucose and ketone tester, it might work as a replacement for my ancient @abbottaustralia Optium Neo (literally my first glucometer) ;)
