Reading this makes me tremble. I remember my mother and I speaking in the kitchen of her apartment, and I saw news reports coming in. I thought, "Oh no, not again..." Worrying about my family there. But then I saw the pictures... I didn't even want to show my mother. How can I? But she insisted. And then she started asking about my sons. Are they safe? Where are they? They're teenagers, so who knows what they're getting up to at times. Everyone was okay, thankfully. But then the day unfolded... worse and worse... more and more horror. This wasn't just a small, isolated attack. This was something beyond recognition. I couldn't sleep that night, thinking of these pictures of people of all ages... the first ones I saw were of elderly people slumped over, victims. No, I thought, this isn't happening. The people trying to escape in their cars, the Nova festival kids running for their lives. And then people online mocking us. My G-d. What has the world come to? Where are you Hashem? But I knew in my heart... yes, Israel will survive this, even if it seems darker than hell itself. I remember when I first came to Israel as a young man, staying in a hostel in Jerusalem's Old City. Oh my, I thought, I have a whole big room to myself. I haven't showered in a few days. Take a shower, lay down, rest. No smartphone then. Just me, thinking, I have all of Jerusalem to explore, Shabbatons to attend, people to meet, study sessions galore. I fell asleep... for all of five minutes. Then, suddenly, a group of IDF soldiers exploded into my room, laughing and talking in Hebrew. My own Hebrew was broken... but I could still talk to them - in English and broken Hebrew. We stayed up half the night talking and sharing stories. I'll never forget it. And I saw, in that moment, what Israel's youthful fighting force had to offer. I remembered that night on October 7th in the darkest hours. We will prevail, B'ezrat Hashem. We will prevail.

I see a lot of people COPE about Chip Roy or Bob Good but Cerno was even 100% worse. He was dead wrong on Covid. Has he ever admitted he was wrong about that? Nope. He said Trump should have been impeached after January 6th. Has he apologized? Nope. Most impressively he has blocked over 300,000 accounts or more. That is the most on X, I believe. The fool even has a rule book for it. Is that normal to you? That is almost the entire state of Wyoming. He can't handle anyone who doesn't bow down and kiss his feet. But he is invited to the White House? I guess my invitation must have gotten lost in the mail. When Scott Adams died that was a tragedy, he was well-liked by a lot of people. Now when Cerno is no longer with us in this world, no one will care because everyone will have been blocked by him. Therefore no one will know that he is gone or even care. His prediction here is just peak delusion

The Woke Reich, like the Woke Left, deconstructs reality. The left does so through the lens of poststructuralism and postmodern thought, rooted in the French philosophers of the 1950s and 1960s. Now the “Woke Reich” is following the same path. It is not the act of questioning something; that is normal. It is when every new piece of evidence becomes proof of a larger conspiracy. Candace Owens does this daily, as we can see below. Facts no longer challenge belief; they expand it. At that point, reality itself is no longer permitted. Why now on the right? Partly because cultural power has shifted. For years, the right saw institutions captured by left-wing moral language and taboos. That produced a backlash, some of it healthy and some of it not. But many people in that backlash did not rebuild themselves around older virtues such as reason, restraint, and moral seriousness. They rebuilt around countermyths: hidden rulers, demographic doom, civilizational sabotage, Jews behind the curtain, “they” are lying to you about everything. In other words, once trust collapsed and once the left had already weakened the prestige of shared truth, parts of the right stepped into the vacuum not with sanity but with a rival unreality. That is one reason younger online factions can seem so feverish. They have inherited the methods of deconstruction without admitting it; they simply aim them at different enemies. If we want to resist this, we must recover the old habits that make free thought possible: intellectual honesty, proportion, moral seriousness, and the ability to let reality correct us. That means refusing the thrill of total explanation, refusing to turn every disappointment into a conspiracy, and refusing to blame entire peoples for the complexity of the world. If we cannot do that, then we are not opposing ideological madness. We are simply building our own version of it.

Oof. This is what happens when you mistake online engagement with reality on the ground. Which is why I am also saying that antisemitism is nowhere near as pervasive as it seems online at the moment. Lots of noise from a lot of people who are not in fact American, and loudmouths who do not represent the majority of the citizens of this country.

I live absolutely torn between blocking every propagandist I see on here more or less immediately and needing to know what the propagandists are actually saying so I can track it and do something about it.
