Sure Europe underspent on defense VALID point. But let’s not pretend America was doing this out of the kindness of its heart either😂. US bases in Europe give Washington direct power projection into really close to RUSSIA, the Middle East and Africa. European allies fought and DIED alongside Americans in Afghanistan and Iraq war. Intelligence sharing, dollar dominance, access to European markets and much more… America was getting PLENTY in return honestly . It was an unequal transaction yes, but it was still a transaction that benefited BOTH sides. So Trump acting like America was just writing blank checks with nothing in return is either completely ignorant or deliberately misleading. And NONE of that justifies going on social media and telling allies to militarily seize a global waterway like it’s a schoolyard argument. we are talking about presidents here!!!
