Our gorgeous daughter Nora was born 11/03/21 at 4:15 AM. She has an extra chromosome for good measure, and that's just how we like her. THANK YOU @DSAInfo, @PositiveaboutDS (and others) for the work you do in affirming our daughter's life. We adore her. She's perfect.

I’ve decided Twitter isn’t for me. Too toxic, too addictive, not good for my health. So I’m taking a hiatus - at least while I train to be a priest at Wycliffe Hall in Oxford. Friends have my contact details if you need them. Peace x

@WalkerMarcus By the same token, young people do by and large have an egalitarian view of sexual politics- but not a sacramental understanding of the body. They have a salvific of the planet- but not the hope of a saviour.

The trouble with this thesis is that young people were prepared to vote, overwhelmingly, for a person dripping in anti-semitism who had received £10,000s from a régime that murdered homosexuals. These young people would also say they care about racism & homophobia.

@DdotReed @PooleHospital Sorry. It's really detrimental to everyone involved. I spent nearly 10 months in hospital as the only carer with Jonas. You couldn't even change carers from day to day.. He spent that long without his daddy and brother. It also meant no respite for me. This policy is so wrong.

Sign on the entrance to the Children’s Ward at @PooleHospital - guess which parent is crossed out? All throughout Covid, the NHS has treated dads like we are completely irrelevant to our child’s care, and I’m getting sick of it.

@digitalynn That sounds good. Wasn’t an option for us unfortunately! I’ve been very lucky to have flexible working, but of course it’s a big factor that my wife has a year off work.

As a dad, I’m learning that there are *hundreds* of factors that tilt the burden of parental responsibility onto the mother. It’s so invisible and subtle that you get to about 6 months and feel like someone’s played a trick on you. I’m exhausted and I’m still doing less.

@rachelcoldicutt I mean… who is engaged in a “moral panic” here? The people trying to prevent human trafficking, revenge porn and and underage sex… or internet dudes claiming our rights of access to online material is being taken away by Christian prudes?

@rachelcoldicutt I simply don’t agree that “consent” is a master ethic - nor do I believe that it’s possible for platform technologies to be values agnostic.

We told ourselves for decades that free markets and liberal societies create strong incentives for meritocratic advancement in society and hold governments accountable. Can we now put that myth to bed?
