@TCSWashington Complete waste of tax payer dollars, and they likely lose them all in the end.

Washington’s Attorney General’s Office has spent significant time on legal battles with the federal government
• More than 34,000 hours logged on lawsuits since November 2024
• Equal to nearly four years of full-time work
• Most of that work occurred within a six-month period
About 30 attorneys are handling cases involving disputes over federal funding and policies, including mental health, disaster relief, and education.
Supporters say the effort is necessary to challenge federal actions, while critics question the scale of the time commitment.

The people in charge don't want you to know this, but Muslims love Jesus.
Islam reveres Him as a major prophet and messenger of the Lord, believes He performed miracles, and states that He will return to Earth to defeat the Antichrist. That's why Donald Trump's painting depicting himself as the Son of God offended the president of Iran. It was an attack on his religion as well as Christianity.
Today's Morning Note newsletter covers Masoud Pezeshkian's condemnation of Trump's “desecration of Jesus,” the Iran War's gutting effects on America's housing market, Colombia's plan to murder Pablo Escobar's hippopotami, and more. Read below.

Communion between Christians and Muslims takes shape under the mantle of Our Lady of Africa. Here, in #Algeria, the maternal love of Lalla Meryem gathers everyone as children, within our rich diversity, in our shared aspiration for dignity, love, justice, and peace. In a world where division and wars sow pain and death, living in unity and peace is a compelling sign. #ApostolicJourney

@Angry_Staffer Actually... no, not at all.
I don't see that.
Because, you see, apparently this was an open secret that was known by the Democratic Party for OVER A DECADE and they kept it quiet...
...until they found it useful to get rid of him
So no, I literally have no idea what you mean.

@EC1_Overwatch @MarcusBaddem @HarmlessYardDog It's a fine car, if your Fred Flinstone.
Jokes aside, I hope you can restore it, cool car.

@MarcusBaddem @HarmlessYardDog That bowtie can be a diamond. Keep polishing.
I found this 1959 Chevrolet Impala. But, I don't think it's worth trying to save. I think the frame and body are too far gone.
What do you think?

Everything irritates me lately, but this worldview especially irritates me.
It is only possible to hold this worldview if you measure [quality of life] by [availability of material goods].
This is not a functional way to measure that because it conflates inner life with outer life. What this means is that material conditions do not result in quality of life by themselves.
If you don't understand what I mean by that, Imagine that you have a big mouthful of dog shit. What is your quality of life? Are you having a good time or not? Now imagine that you are a fly. Are you having a good time now? Do you see how something that is very bad for you is very good for the fly? It's the same material condition. It's happening to a very different being. It's a very different quality of life.
Everybody has a smartphone. We get packages delivered by drones. AI writes essays for us. Amazon delivers everything you need to live in 2 days. Material conditions are great, but everyone is miserable.
Why would that be?
According to taoki, it's your fault. You chose to be miserable. It is your brain or your mind or your choices making misery out of a good thing. After all, look how many Amazon deliveries you get! Look how many flavors of Doritos you can choose from! Life is good!
But for someone like me, wealth doesn't do much at all for my quality of life. It definitely does something! I am by far richer than I have ever been, and I prefer it this way. But it doesn't solve my biggest problems, and if you zoom out far enough, it becomes clear that the availability of wealth is a major cause of my biggest problems.
It is not a secret that I do not like immigration from africa, india, South and Central america, and other such places. I consider it my biggest problem.
Would all of that be happening without such availability of wealth? Without the technology? The airplanes? The computers? The money that can be transferred from phone to phone in an instant? Of course not. In any time before we had all of those things, millions of Indians or Africans coming to your country would be met by the national Army.
I saw my world changing starting in the 2000s. The problems we have today were evident back then, but I didn't suspect they would get this bad. In the last 20 years, I have seen everything I value and everything that makes sense to me be replaced by something crude, inferior, dangerous, dirty, unwelcome, hostile, threatening. Instead of local families having Springtime events in the streets, Muslims gather shirtless and slap their chests in a war display. Instead of a corporate culture that values performance, myself and everybody like me is turned away by the job market in favor of foreign races, alternative sexualities, and women who may or may not be competent. Who cares? They're women. Music is gone. Culture is gone. Movies are worse than ever.
Because we live in the "BEST OF ALL TIMES," (according to taoki), there is nothing left for me to belong to. Especially not where I grew up, or in any of the places that people usually move to from there. I could not deal with how uncomfortable that made me, so I ran away.
I made a lot of money and I bought a big beautiful house in the middle of nowhere. The house is just about perfect (except for the repairs) and the view is so nice I unconsciously stare at it every day to recharge my battery. It's a gem, and I'm lucky to have it.
But every day, I wake up and I remember that I am here because I could not be where I wanted to be, because where I wanted to be is gone. It's having its "BEST OF TIMES."
There are naked tribal people in the Amazon who are happier than me because they know what to do and where to go and who their friends are. They don't have to think about it.
Watch out for people who think that life is good because there is a lot of stuff. Sometimes that means other values have not even occurred to them.
taoki@justalexoki
life has ALWAYS BEEN WORSE. you are LITERALLY living in THE BEST OF TIMES. on ALL MEASURES. you are SO LUCKY to be ALIVE IN 2026 rather than LITERALLY ANY OTHER TIME IN HISTORY

@Doffx @CynicalPublius Can you point out the elected official in this photo? A PM or a president perhaps?

OK, I'm getting heat from some corners for not ripping Trump on the post of him healing Uncle Sam.
So here are my thoughts:
1. Do I wish he had not posted it? Yes, I wish he had not posted it. Was it stupid to post it? Yes, it was stupid to post it.
2. It was somebody else's AI picture from months ago, FYI, and it was supposed to show Trump healing America, which I believe he is doing through hard work and strong policies.
3. It's not the first time he posted something stupid I wish he had not posted, and it won't be the last.
4. The choice is a strong, free America that supports the interests of average American citizens vs. the goals of a globalist cabal of neo-Marxists bent on enslaving us. I choose the former over the latter, and if that means I periodically need to overlook less important issues that I would otherwise strongly object to, so be it. I see the big picture. Many people do not.
Explained.

Yakima County tells AG Brown and DSHS 'no, you cannot open sex offender facilities in our neighborhoods right now'.
The moratorium is for 6 months as the county council works on zoning regulations to prevent these from being opened near children.
But...
If HB 2266 Forced Drug Housing Everywhere (now law) is any indication of the future;
Expect a bill next session that won't let cities or counties regulate where these Level 3 Sex Offender Housing Facilities can be placed.
