@nobleisawinner Christ is the invisible head of the Church; the Pope, the Successor of St Peter, is the visible head of the Church. It's been that way for roughly 2,000 years.

This was rough to hear from a public Catholic. The pope has every right to speak on politics and public affairs, because politics concerns man and the common good, and every facet of those realities belongs under the judgment of God.

JD Vance on President Trump's criticism of Pope Leo XIV: "In some cases, it would be best for the Vatican to stick to matters of morality and what's going on in the Catholic Church and let the president of the U.S. stick to dictating American public policy."

As a Catholic, I don't buy that @realDonaldTrump is dividing most Catholics at least in this country. Quite the opposite in fact. They agree with him because most American Cathloics hate that the church has become politically progressive, obsequoous to the left and at times openly Marxist. The Pope-who is American--is literally suggesting that we should turn a blind eye to the murderous mullahs, and the American taxpayer should subsidize the world's poor through open borders. As a result, the Pope and the Catholic Church is losing its relevance for most American Cathloics who believe it should stay out of politics and focus its attention to matters of faith and its own problems, lest we forget how it ignored child abuse for decades wsj.com/politics/trump…

This is just as blasphemous as the picture Trump posted. They put Mary in the place of Christ and give glory to her which is only due to Christ, just like Trump tried to do. They placed HER on the throne, and show HER crushing the serpent, despite Jesus being the one reigning and ruling, and crushing the serpents head. If you had a problem with Trumps meme(which I did) but are okay with this, then you need to reevaluate your beliefs.

To all the Bishops and priests right now who are defending Pope Leo: It’s time you open your eyes and understand what’s really happening. He is taking the holy Word of God and twisting it, militarizing it, to appease Muslims who know only one thing, conquer and destroy. “Blessed are the peacemakers” is not a command to open the gates, tear down the walls, and surrender your nations, your culture, and your children to those who openly reject Christ and seek to dominate everything in the name of Allah. Jesus never told us to make peace with darkness. He never commanded us to call evil good, or to invite wolves into the sheepfold and call it “unity” or “reconciliation.” The Pope is not preaching the Gospel. He is rewriting it to fit a globalist agenda that puts Islam above Christianity and political correctness above truth. Real peacemakers don’t appease those whose religion commands them to subjugate or eliminate non-believers. True Christians don’t twist Scripture to justify the destruction of the very faith they claim to defend. It is time for Pope Leo to step down so that the Cardinals may elect a new Pope, one who actually understands this danger and will defend the Church instead of surrendering it. We need a shepherd like Cardinal Robert Sarah, a man who sees the threat clearly and refuses to betray the faith for false peace. Wake up. The Word of God is not a tool to be militarized for political favor or fake unity. It is a sword of truth. If you keep standing with this, you are not standing with Christ, you are standing against Him. Choose wisely.

I must say this…there will be no peace in the world until all humanity embraces the One True God and His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus makes it very clear that He is the ONLY way to the Father. If we as Catholics embrace ideologies that deny Jesus Christ as our only Savior we are not on the path to peace, we are hastening destruction. Countless martyrs have died embracing Philippians 2:10, “Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father”. To deny this in pursuit of peace in the world is a betrayal of Our Savior who died for us. Que viva Cristo Rey!

I must resign from @KofC. I did not realize I was joining a partisan political organization. I will miss the fellowship and fish fries, for sure. So many good and decent men.
Knights of Columbus@KofC

Statement From Supreme Knight Patrick Kelly: In recent days, many Catholics and other people of goodwill have been deeply disappointed by the disparaging comments directed at Pope Leo XIV by the President of the United States. The Successor of Saint Peter is not a politician — he is the Vicar of Christ, entrusted with proclaiming the Gospel and shepherding souls. The Knights of Columbus has always stood in solidarity with the Holy Father, recognizing in him a spiritual father who calls the world not to division, but to unity, not to conflict, but to peace. In this moment, we reaffirm that commitment with clarity and conviction. At the same time, we recognize that faithful Catholics can and do engage vigorously in the public square, and that nations have a right and duty to safeguard the security of their own people — always in accordance with the demands of justice and the pursuit of peace. The Church does not ask Catholics to withdraw from civic life, but to engage with and elevate it — bringing to our civic dialogue the light of truth, respect for the dignity of every human person, and a steadfast concern for the common good. Pope Leo XIV has consistently called for peace, dialogue, and restraint in a world marked by war and suffering. The Holy Father’s words are not political talking points — they are reflections of the Gospel itself. Whether one agrees or disagrees with particular policy judgments, the Holy Father’s prophetic voice deserves to be heard with respect and engaged seriously. As Knights, we are called to be men of unity, as followers of Christ and patriotic citizens. I encourage all Knights of Columbus to pray for the Holy Father, to pray for civic leaders, and to pray for peace and those working to achieve it. And let us recommit ourselves to charity in our public discourse. May we be known not for echoing the divisions of our time, but for healing them. In a moment of tension, the path forward is not louder conflict, but deeper fidelity — to truth, to charity, and to the Gospel.

All the MAGA people calling the Pope a "liberal" right now would be calling him a "patriot" if he was cheering on Israel and the War in Iran. That is what all this is about. Just remember that.

I have been pretty emphatic the last few days in condemning Pope Leo’s foray into American politics. My detractors are having fun stating that I am doing this out of allegiance to President Trump and that I have chosen Trump over God. WRONG. The biggest reason by far why I am so vocal on this is the damage Pope Leo is doing to the Catholic Church in the USA. I believe Pope Leo has done more to harm US Catholicism in just a few days than any other Pope of the past 100 years (even Francis). Pope Leo is literally causing orthodox, faithful American Catholics to flee the Church out of disgust over his leftwing politicization and his kowtowing to Islam. Moreover, he has opened the door for boundless criticism against Catholicism from certain Protestant denominations and churches, causing untold harm to Christian ecumenism in the USA. It is precisely because I care so much about the Church that Jesus founded in AD 33 that I oppose the havoc Pope Leo has unleashed in the US Church. (And yes, under Church doctrine and as a Catholic, I am fully entitled to hold such beliefs and express them.)

The Knights of Columbus have completely lost their minds. Calling Pope Leo the “Holy Father” is blasphemy, plain and simple. And pretending his words aren’t political talking points is laughable when the Pope keeps injecting himself into attacks on the Trump administration and America’s immigration policies. You people are disgracing the Catholic Church. The best thing you could do right now is keep your mouths shut and stay out of U.S. politics.

You can go to church twice a day for your entire life, say a million Hail Mary's, confess your sins to a priest a million times, get baptized, partake in communion every day, sing a bunch of psalms, read the Bible, and do your best not to sin. None of that will get you to Heaven
