I'm not sure—he's become too partisan and unfunny for most viewers, which explains his plummeting ratings. He should be pulling huge numbers right now, like past late-night hosts on their farewell tours. That said, the 10 pm slot may benefit from CBS reaching ~55 million more households than Fox News or CNN, plus Nielsen counts both East and West Coast feeds for broadcast networks.
