"Everyone said it was impossible. That things like this only happen in movies." A Ukrainian Warrior, Mykola, call sign "Boroda" ("Beard), was defending a front-line position in Chasiv Yar, Donetsk region. Unable to take the position with infantry, Russian forces decided to destroy it. "Boroda" ended up trapped under the rubble in a basement - pinned beneath concrete slabs, with a broken arm and leg. The rescue operation lasted 10 days. Throughout that time, his brothers-in-arms cleared the debris by hand under Russian shelling. The injured Defender was saved. "Boroda" is now undergoing rehabilitation and plans to return to service. He was awarded the Order of Courage, 3rd Class. 📷: 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade

🇰🇷 South Korea quietly won the missile defense arms race, and almost nobody noticed. While Washington was busy explaining why Patriot batteries cost as much as a small country’s GDP, Seoul’s Cheongung system went 29 for 30 in its combat debut over Iranian airspace. That is a 96.7% kill rate. In real missiles. In a real war. LIG Nex1 built a system that works better and costs a fraction of the price. Gulf nations are already calling. The order books are filling up. South Korea just became the most interesting arms exporter on the planet. The Patriot lobby will not enjoy this week. Gandalv / @Microinteracti1

More footage from the burning oil refinery in Ufa, and some information about the plant and its strategic importance for Russia: The drone strike likely hit the area of the AVT-5 distillation unit, critical to the plant's operations; a large fire broke out at the site. Without this unit, further oil processing is impossible. Bashneft-Novoil (Novo-Ufimsky oil refinery), located approximately 1,300 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, has a crude processing capacity of about 7.3 million tons per year. The facility produces high-octane gasoline, motor and industrial oils, aviation and jet fuel, diesel fuel, bitumen, and other petroleum products. Two other plants - Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim and Bashneft-UNPZ - are located near Bashneft-Novoil. This makes the northern industrial zone of Ufa one of the largest petrochemical hubs in Russia. Prior to this, Ukrainian drones attacked it on March 22.

🇯🇵 Former Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba just dropped the truth about Trump. I met him three times. If you tell him he is wrong, he gets angry right away. You cannot say that. You have to say you are absolutely right and flatter him to save face. That guy judges everything by loss or gain. This is not a secret. This is how the US operates. Flatter the leader. Stroke the ego. Pretend he is always right. That is not diplomacy. That is servitude. Japan has been doing this for decades. Bowing to Washington. Flattering US presidents. Ignoring its own interests. Ishiba is speaking the truth that Japanese politicians usually hide. Trump cannot handle criticism. He cannot handle being wrong. He judges everything by what benefits him. Not what benefits the US. Not what benefits Japan. What benefits him. The world knows this. The US knows this. But no one says it out loud. Ishiba just did. The mask is off. The empire is run by a man who cannot be told he is wrong. And the world is expected to bow. Japan is waking up. The rest of the world is watching.

April Fools’ Day, 2022: when Ukraine pranked Russia’s air defence — with real explosions. In the early hours of 1 April 2022, as Russia’s full-scale invasion entered its second month, Ukrainian forces carried out one of the war’s most unexpected operations. Four helicopters crossed the border into Russia. They were not detected. The strike involved two Mi-24 attack helicopters and two Mi-8 transport helicopters, flying at extremely low altitude to evade radar. On board were not only pilots, but also operatives from Ukraine’s military intelligence agency @DI_Ukraine, including members of the special unit known as “Shaman Battalion.” They were tasked with: — covering the helicopters on the ground — engaging enemy air defence if needed — preparing for potential evacuation inside Russian territory The risk was understood to be high. At the time, Ukrainian helicopter crews were already sustaining losses in missions to besieged Mariupol. The target was a Rosneft fuel depot in Belgorod, close to the Ukrainian border. At around 05:00, the helicopters launched unguided rockets, hitting at least eight fuel tanks, each holding roughly 2,000 cubic metres. A large fire followed. Russian emergency services deployed significant resources, and local evacuations were reported. One detail stands out in these recollections. During the operation, intelligence operatives reported spotting Russian TOR air defence systems — and opening fire on them from the air. In effect, a system designed to stop such attacks was caught unprepared, in daylight, under direct fire. Ukraine did not immediately confirm its role. At the time, strategic ambiguity was part of the playbook. But the message was clear. The raid demonstrated three things early in the war: — Russia’s border regions were vulnerable — its air defence coverage was inconsistent — Ukraine could plan and execute deep, coordinated strikes beyond the frontline It also highlighted the integration of aviation and intelligence units, with HUR operatives embedded directly into combat missions. Four years on, the methods have evolved. Helicopter raids have largely given way to long-range drones and precision strikes. But the logic remains the same. The idea that distance equals safety — once tested on April Fools’ Day — has since been repeatedly disproven. What looked, at first glance, like a daring one-off operation now reads more like an early preview of a wider campaign. #Ukraine #WarInUkraine #AirDefense #MilitaryHistory #HUR

When the whole world learned about Bucha. About Ukrainians butchered in the streets of Bucha by Russian occupiers. About our people tortured in basements. About those shot on the roads. About adults and children whose bodies were found in graves in Bucha. Everyone saw the horror that Russia and its aggression bring. They saw what Ukraine is really defending itself against. Today, on the fourth anniversary of Bucha’s liberation from Russian occupiers, we honored the memory of Ukrainians who were killed and tortured there. We remember and will never forget what the enemy did. Every Russian murderer, executioner, and terrorist must be held accountable for every crime against our people. Blessed be the memory of everyone whose lives were taken by Russia – to all who were killed in Bucha and across Ukraine at the hands of Russian occupiers.

Remember that epic raid by Ukrainian military helicopters striking the Russian oil depot in Belgorod on April 1st, 2022 -- exactly four years ago today? That was literally the first such high-profile strike by Ukraine and it made an absolutely thunderous impact. It was incredible: Ukrainian helicopters flying at ultra-low altitude before dawn, punching through Russian air defenses into Russian territory, taking out oil storage tanks with R-8 missiles, delivering breathtaking footage to world media along the way, and pulling off an epic escape without losses. Against the backdrop of Russia's defeat near Kyiv and its withdrawal from all of northern Ukraine, that video sent the morale of the entire country straight into the stratosphere. It seemed unbelievable that Ukrainian army aviation was capable of something like that. And now, four years later, devastating strikes on Russian territory aren't just real -- they've long been a routine fact of this war. If someone had told us back then that four years on, entire oil ports in Russia would be going up in catastrophic flames from Ukrainian strikes we'd never have believed it.

The Ukrainian ballistic missile with a range of up to 850 km will be ready by the middle of this year, 20-30 missiles will need to be launched at Moscow, — Fire Point director Denis Shtilerman He says it's necessary to seize the moment while the Russians can't intercept them and "wipe out" several targets. Out of 20 ballistic missiles, all of them can reach Moscow. Everything there is too disastrous for them. "They should first go in like children going to school," he added. Shtilerman also added that "Ukraine is fighting with its hands tied behind its back." t.me/Crimeanwind/96…

Ukraine just opened its first drone production plant in Britain. That matters for 3 reasons: • it moves part of Ukraine’s war industry into NATO space • it creates industrial spillover inside Europe • it shows Ukrainian defense tech is no longer just “surviving” — it is scaling 🧵👇

I spoke with UK Prime Minister @Keir_Starmer about our coordination with partners to end the war, including communication with the American team. We have suggested a ceasefire for the Easter holidays, and we expect the United States to support us. Ukraine is making every effort to make diplomacy work. However, on the Russian side, we see no willingness whatsoever. The only thing that can change their approach is pressure and determination from partners, as well as the resilience of our warriors. I briefed Keir on the frontline situation—our positions are already significantly stronger. Thank you to everyone who is helping us in this! I also spoke about our meetings in the Middle East and the Gulf, as well as the agreements we reached to strengthen the protection of lives. Ukraine’s experience and expertise must be expanded throughout Europe—this is our shared security guarantee. And we are ready to work with our European partners to protect our people together.
