1/ When the UK built PAYG pensions it solved a simple problem: share the risk of old-age poverty across society. That worked because the underlying demographics (many workers, few retirees) and macro environment (rising wages, high labour participation) made the arithmetic easy. It was a social engineering win - quick to implement, visible, and politically durable.

🇸🇳 Kalidou Koulibaly was told by an American journalist: 🗣️ “I recommend you go to the nightclub called Paradise. All the players enjoy the atmosphere there.” Koulibaly's response: 🗣️ “Since I arrived here, I have only left my house for training sessions and the mosque. We are Muslims; this kind of thing is not part of our religion and our culture.” Respect. 🙏🏻

🚨 $NEAR UPDATE I was expecting more from $NEAR, but sometimes the market tells you you’re early. Bitcoin moved from around $62k to $64k and even with the market getting some strength, $NEAR barely reacted. That’s the part I don’t like. A few days ago I said $2.30-$2.35 was the level I was watching. The problem is that NEAR couldn’t even get close to reclaiming it. Instead, it spent days moving sideways while other coins were showing much better strength. That’s why I decided to close the trade in just $1K profit. I’m not bearish on $NEAR in long term. I still like the project and the AI narrative behind it. But right now, the chart is not giving me a reason to stay in the trade. Sometimes the best trade is not the one you enter. It’s the one you know when to leave.

🚨 I just bought more $NEAR The interesting thing about $NEAR is that I don’t think it has to follow whatever Bitcoin does next. What I see is that despite all the fear, $NEAR is still holding around the same area and buyers keep defending the $2 zone. The AI narrative is still there, the ecosystem is still active, and there is no major unlock pressure hanging over the coin. For me, the important level is around $2.30-$2.35. If NEAR can break above that area, I think $2.50 comes very fast and then people will start changing their opinion again. It can dump more as nothing goes up in a straight line. If we see lower prices, I’m ready to buy more.

It's obvious to point out attacks against Muslims get ignored - but still needs repeatedly calling out. An Antisemitic attack should be reported and action taken. But where is the same media outrage, cobra meetings and calling of national emergency when 5 Muslims are attacked?

Enough is enough. Anti-Muslim hate crimes are not inevitable - they’re fuelled by a political climate where far-right rhetoric is increasingly normalised. Politicians who stoke division bear responsibility for the environment they’re helping create. Disgusting behaviour.

People should be free to worship, work and walk our streets without fear. The attack in Edinburgh is disturbing. Violence in our streets is bad enough but reports indicate some of the victims were targeted because they were Muslim. This is abhorrent. I am glad police acted swiftly. The victims and their families deserve justice, and the public must have confidence that the law applies equally to everyone.

The individual in question should obviously be held to account, but questions must also be asked of the racist voices and rhetoric, predominantly online, seeking to divide, poison and wreak terror on the streets of the UK.
Keir Starmer@Keir_Starmer

Absolutely appalling. No one should face violence on our streets. The suspect appears to be motivated by anti-Muslim hatred. I will not tolerate this - he will face the full force of the law. My thoughts are with those who are injured and I thank the police and the emergency services for their response. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
