@simer50 I think many of us like Nurse when he is on his game. He brings toughness to the team.
The issue is his salary for sure.
English

@e_townhustler Saving Ingram for the big game on Saturday.
English

I'm suprised with how things have gone for Jarry that they decided to give him a home start #letsgooilers
English

@OILfanincowtown Yep can't argue that! I like the idea of keeping Dach.
English

@HankOilers Dach is under team control as he’s an RFA so ya my guess Is they keep the younger, bigger kid with more potential that’s still under team control
English

@OILfanincowtown I would go with whoever is willing to take less and that is probably Dach.
English

@HankOilers jones is gone imo… Dach is just coming off his ELC, and will be a fixture on the 4th line for cheap next season, and probably beyond. Local kid that will sign cheap
English

@Bob_Stauffer @EdmontonOilers Nice addition for the team. A smart move by Bowman.
English

The @EdmontonOilers have been working on the recruitment of Michaels for a while.
A priority for Stan Bowman & Kalle Larsson-Senior Director of Player Development.
Michaels was MVP of NCAA Frozen Four in 2025 with Western Michigan.
Much needed organizational Right-Shot C Depth.

The #Oilers have signed @WMUHockey's Owen Michaels to a one-year entry-level contract starting next season! ✍️ Learn more about the forward ⤵️ nhl.com/oilers/news/re…

@ShaneDoolittle I was trying to get the cap space to 8 million to fit in a big add (Robert Thomas like).
Keeping both Jones and Dach on value deals would really help out the team.
English

@HankOilers I would be willing to walk on Statsney and look for an upgrade there.
I agree with the rest, although I'd probably try to keep both Jones and Dach
English

@simer50 Not til 2030. Unless we move him out before then somehow.
English

@meisamnorouzi I agree with keeping Murphy. Ran those numbers yesterday.
English

@borbandy I posted yesterday with the team keeping Dickinson and Murphy. (I feel thats the direction to go).
I think Roslovic will get more on the open market and the Oilers will go a different route.
English

@HankOilers Not bringing back Murphy or Dickinson? I wouldn't give Roslovic anything over 3.
English

@corprice12 I dont believe it will happen but it would really open things up if he did. Could allow them to resign Murphy as well.
English

@HankOilers Possible nurse exit as well pending how the playoffs go id say
English

@ShaunAyotte @curtisharsch Usually the only way!
There is my daily reminder about the Wallstedt draft...

English

@HankOilers @curtisharsch You want an elite option? You get that by drafting and developing one.
English

@King_Bomp If thats the case, Id assume the Oilers had one heck of a playoff run.
English

@LetsGoPens_8771 If McDavid was gone, nothing would matter anyway.

You'll find that this tool is easy to visualize roster data, that it works for all 32 NHL teams and that it displays a ton of information in a pretty condensed format. A brief overview can be found on the about page, and you can submit feedback or bugs there, which I'm sure will be found faster than I could ever find them.
You can access LineBlender here: lineblender.kevinshockeystats.com
Finally, for those wondering about the accuracy of BenchRates expected goals model, I was very surprised to learn that at 5v5, after being trained on almost 295k shots, their model has an AUC of 0.8084, which makes it one of the most accurate (if not the most) publicly available xG models.
Please enjoy, use and abuse (within reason!) this tool, and if you don't mind, please share with those who may get use out of it.
As a final comment, I wish to once again reiterate my deepest appreciation and thanks for the support of Hart @PuckPedia and the fine gentlemen over at @benchrates who made this idea possible.
(PS. If this app gets the internet hug of death, I will work through scaling issues as they come up, please be patient!)

A few weeks ago I was getting frustrated with doing line analytics in using the traditionally available tools and I set out build something that I felt was better. I wanted a way to visualize roster analytics in real time given many coaches propensity to shuffle lines in a rapid-fire fashion.
The tool is simple, move players around and watch the line combination and With-and-Without-You (WOWY) analytics update in near real-time. It allows you to also select defensemen with the forward lines you desire and work through all the permutations of WOWY available for those combinations. I wanted to do it in a clean, easy to use and understand manner.
With these principles in mind I set out to create LineBlender, and sought partnerships with two premiere hockey data repositories in PuckPedia and BenchRates, who graciously provided the API data needed to make this application viable. Both organizations have my sincerest gratitude for making this possible. So with that out of the way, It is my honor and privilege to present "LineBlender" an analytics visualizer created in loving memory of Bruce McCurdy, who passed away one year ago today. He would have loved this tool.

English

@JustinLavvs I wouldn't mind keeping Roslovic, I really like the player. I just dont think the Oilers will.
English

@HankOilers The Oilers have struggled mightily to acquire and retain good depth scorers. They have a proven one in Roslovic. He should be around 4 and prioritizing Henrique 2.0 I think would be a mistake. Even if the AAV is 5.
