@vistarealms @Providence_777 @nimlot26 You do realise dlss5 is a tool that developers use and configure right? The way it looks, and the way it affects the image, isn’t down to Nvidia, it’s down to capcom devs configuring it to look the way it looks. Your problem is with capcom, not Nvidia.

@Providence_777 @nimlot26 This take is wrong. If you take cutscene Grace (pre-rendered animation), she has all these little details that dlss5 is adding. In-engine Grace (not cutscene Grace) doesn’t have these details. So dlss5 makes IN-ENGINE Grace looks different much closer to cut scene Grace.

People are correctly identifying a radical difference in her face, debating about if it's affecting the model or not is a red herring, it's beside the point of what anyone is arguing. With textures, you can in fact make someones face look more full or more gaunt. We've been doing that with normal maps for decades. Let's not pretend that light and shadow don't have a drastic impact on how the shape of a model is perceived. I explained the issue here: x.com/Providence_777…

People are only comparing in-engine Grace and saying she looks different, but dlss5 Grace looks MUCH closer to pre-rendered cutscene Grace, and that is incredible.

@Providence_777 @compusemble Not all, but lot of the additional face contouring was already present in the unaltered cutscenes which appear to be higher fidelity than gameplay. Same with the more full looking lips.

improved lighting is great, changing original characters to look nothing like what they should is fucking unacceptable slop imagine being a game developer and seeing a company put out software that completely changes your original vision of the design and aesthetic because they felt like it

Looked at the DLSS 5 stuff. Am I missing something here, cause almost all of this looks great and better than the original. I’m convinced people are a bunch of virtue signaling sheep that hear the phrase “AI” and immediately jump on their high horse with phrases like “UGH AI SLOP!” A lot of it isn’t even slop. It looks great. And if you didn’t know something was AI and I told you it was an artist’s work, you’d love it. Don’t get me wrong, there is a lot of bad shit that comes from AI. Tons. But not everything that is associated with AI is bad and folks need to come to terms with this and stfu and stop pretending you’re better than it or everyone. AI is the future. It always has been. It will continue to be. And it’s gonna get stronger with its presence. This will happen whether you like it or not. So learn to work “with” it and not just blindly dismiss it.
