Which AI memory system is best for you? I compared 4 open-source memory systems for AI agents: mempalace - verbatim storage, fully offline, MIT claude-mem - silent capture for Claude Code, AGPL mem0 - pluggable SDK with 30+ vector stores, Apache-2.0 supermemory - managed engine with user profiles, ~50ms Key findings: - mempalace scored highest overall (8.25/10) with perfect data integrity - nothing is lost or summarized - mem0 has the most mature architecture but highest operational complexity - claude-mem is unbeatable if you live in Claude Code, but locked to that ecosystem - supermemory scores high benchmars, but requires cloud + proprietary license ($) No single system wins everywhere. The right choice depends on your constraints: privacy, simplicity, flexibility, or managed infra. Full comparison in the images below. Disclosure: I built mempalace. Eval was run by a separate LLM I don't use, fed all 4 codebases blind.

@DanielMiessler I think the core issue with Obsidian is that it was built to be a generalist notes app, not for that really matter. If you really want context memory and high-quality records, try @NeuroTraceVsc.

Obsidian is Markdown files with frontmatter for relationship definition and tagging. So I do just as good or better in my AI Harness. What am I missing?

Claude Code + Obsidian es una locura. Como en el trabajo tengo 30+ repositorios donde hago PRs o tengo que leer código para entender flujos altamente complejos y críticos... Para ayudarme lo que hice fue escribir un Claude.md raíz, que queda disponible para todos las instancias de Claude Code donde quiera que la abra. En este Claude.md especifiqué de que va cada repositorio y los organicé por producto. Le especifiqué como estructurar los proyectos si necesita clonar más repositorios Como es una arquitectura de microservicios muy grande, para entender flujos es normal tener que mirar 6+ repositorios. Con esto Claude puede ayudarme a inferir otros repositorios y mantenerlos en mi local para cruzar código que se referencia (llamadas de API interna, infraestructura como código, etc) Además le especifiqué un vault de Obsidian en el que yo mantengo mis notas. Así le puedo pedir a Claude Code que me asista leyendo código, cruzando llamadas entre microservicios o mapeando infraestructura. Todo queda en mi vault de Obsidian donde reviso detalladamente y escribo a manopla mis notas. Esta época no tiene sentido de verdad. No quiero vender FOMO de IA ni nada, mi intención es que te animes a experimentar estas cosas, probar que te funciona, crear tus propios flujos.

Es definitivo, me he pasado de Notion a Obsidian. Pensando en hacer un taller para quien quiera aprender a utilizar este gestor de notas avanzado y "second brain" para organizar conocimientos. ¿Alguien interesado?

Después del debate, el historiador hizo un video eterno para decir que perdió porque le cambiamos el tema. Aún cuando eso hubiera sido cierto (en lo absoluto, todo fue acordado), él fue quien, con una soberbia peligrosa, hizo un video precisamente del tema que debatimos (por eso lo debatimos jaja) diciendo que me estaba “EDUCANDO”. ¿Cómo pretendías educarme sobre un tema del que no tienes la menor idea? En tiktok puedes hacerle creer a la gente que sabes porque existe la edición, los cortes, puedes armarte un guion; en un cara a cara, se te cae el teatro.

@catalinmpit Check out @NeuroTraceVsc. It's an operational memory MCP. I think that issues from any Agent are more like memory issues. You can use it in VS Code or Cursor.

Lately, Claude makes some shocking mistakes. ⟶ Implements overly complex code ⟶ Ignores the codebase's code style ⟶ Removes working code for no reason ⟶ Replaces code that's out of scope from the task at hand It feels like it needs 100% supervision. At this point, you're better off writing everything yourself.
