NATO just told America: not through our skies. A furious US general went on Fox News and confirmed it. Italy. Germany. Spain. France. Every single one of them. Airspace closed. Bases locked. Go find another way. The empire built 75 years of alliances for exactly this moment. And when the moment came, the allies watched from the window. Fighting alone. In the Middle East, nobody cares. 🚨 NOBODY KNOWS HOW FUCKED NATO ACTUALLY IS RIGHT NOW. In the last 72 hours, watch who walked away: 🇫🇷 France: Blocked US military overflight for weapons to Israel — FIRST TIME since war began Feb 28. Israel cut ALL defense procurement from France. 🇮🇹 Italy: Denied Sigonella air base landing to US bombers. Defense Minister said relations are "solid and loyal." DAYS after blocking US planes. 🇪🇸 Spain: Closed ENTIRE airspace to US operations. Blocked Naval Station Rota AND Morón Air Base. PM Sánchez called it "not NATO collective defense." 🇵🇱 Poland: Refused to redeploy Patriot batteries. US burned through 1,200+ interceptors in 16 days. Poland said no. 🇨🇭 Switzerland: Denied 2 US reconnaissance flights. Suspended $120,000,000 in weapons exports under "neutrality laws." 🇬🇧 UK: PM said "this is not our war." Trump told them to "build up some delayed courage." 🇩🇪 Germany: President Steinmeier called war "possibly illegal." WHILE hosting Ramstein — largest US base outside America. That is: France, Italy, Spain, Poland, Switzerland, UK, and Germany. All in ONE week. When this many allies abandon you at once, it's not a disagreement. It's a collapse.

On Catholics praying with Non-Catholics: Code of Canon Law 1917: Canon 1258 § 1. It is not lawful for the faithful in any manner to assist actively at or to take part in the sacred rites of non-Catholics. § 2. Passive or merely material presence can be tolerated for the sake of honor or civil office, for a grave reason approved by the bishop in case of doubt, at the funerals, weddings, and similar solemnities of non-Catholics, provided there is no danger of perversion [of the faith] or scandal.

Let me explain something to the MAGA crowd, because clearly someone needs to. They seem to think NATO is cosmic room service. You pick up the phone, say “hello, we’re having a bit of a war here,” and thirty-one countries march to your rescue. A continental Uber for military adventures. That is not how it works. Article 5 is a mutual defense clause. The clue is in the word mutual. And it has been triggered exactly once in NATO’s entire history. After September 11. When America was attacked. Not Europe. America. Every NATO member showed up. They went to Afghanistan. They fought. They bled. They died. In America’s war. On America’s behalf. Now imagine they hadn’t. Over 1,100 allied soldiers died in Afghanistan. British, Canadian, German, Danish, Polish. And yes, even Ukrainian soldiers, who had no NATO obligation whatsoever. Gone. Without them, those are American names on those graves. Sons from Ohio. Fathers from Georgia. Kids from Nebraska who never came home. Then there is the money. NATO allies spent over 100 billion dollars on a war that started on American soil. Without that, Washington pays every cent. On top of the 2 to 3 trillion the war already cost. And without allied bases across Europe and Central Asia, American supply lines collapse entirely. Without British forces in Helmand and Canadians in Kandahar, the Taliban reconstitutes in three years instead of ten. The gaps get filled one way. More American deployments. More American coffins arriving at Dover. Afghanistan was bloody. But NATO took the hit. Without them, every single one of those casualties would have had an American name. Trump called allies like these losers. Suckers. If you are a certain kind of broken person, that probably makes sense to you. But for the rest of us, what those soldiers did has a different name. Honor. The bond between men who have been in the same dirt, under the same fire. Between Brits and Americans, Frenchmen and Norwegians, Canadians and Danes. Not a diplomatic relationship. A blood bond. Brotherhood forged in places most people will never see and cannot imagine. In that culture, you do not mock a fallen ally. You do not sneer at the dead. It is the lowest thing a human being can do. Trump did it to a standing ovation. If you are a MAGA supporter travelling to NATO countries, understand this. There are no friendly pats on the back waiting for you. No one will buy you a beer. The governments who share your worldview sit in Minsk, Moscow and Pyongyang. Brutal dictatorships where journalists disappear, elections are theatre and dissent is a medical condition treated in basements. Not London. Not Paris. Not Rome, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Berlin or Ottawa. You have abandoned the open societies, the free press, the rule of law, the places where people actually want to live. You traded the best of civilization for a very small, very dark room. Frankly, it serves you right. Gandalv / @Microinteracti1

Statement regarding Mrs. Carrie Prejean Boller   In recent days, I have become aware of the removal of Mrs. Carrie Prejean Boller from the Presidential Religious Liberty Commission, along with the public accusations that have followed. After reviewing her account and the circumstances surrounding this matter, I believe it is necessary to speak plainly.   Ms. Boller has been treated unjustly.   A Catholic woman, speaking from a well-formed conscience and in fidelity to the teachings of the Church, has been publicly criticized and removed – yet no clear, substantiated reason has been provided. Such a lack of transparency does not serve justice. It damages reputations and undermines trust.   More troubling still is the apparent cause: that she raised legitimate questions about Zionism and defended the simple truth that Catholics are not bound to any political ideology.   Let me be clear.   The Catholic Church does not teach that the modern State of Israel holds a divine mandate that must be supported by all believers. Nor does the Church teach that opposition to political Zionism is inherently antisemitic. These are not doctrines of the Catholic faith.   At the same time, the Church unequivocally rejects all hatred toward the Jewish people. Every human person is to be loved, defended, and treated with dignity. But this truth must not be distorted. To question the policies or actions of a modern nation – any nation – is not hatred. It is a moral responsibility when innocent life is at stake.   We are witnessing great suffering in the Holy Land. Innocent men, women, and children – especially in Gaza – have endured immense devastation. To speak on behalf of human life, wherever it is threatened, is not political extremism. It is fidelity to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.   Mrs. Boller did what many are now afraid to do: she spoke.   She spoke for Catholics who are increasingly pressured to conform to political narratives that do not reflect the fullness of our faith. She spoke to ensure that antisemitism is not wrongly conflated with legitimate moral concern. She spoke for the dignity of all human life – Jew and Palestinian alike.   For this, she has been mischaracterized.   It is especially disheartening when such treatment appears to come, in part, from those within the Church who should be the first to defend the faithful when they speak truthfully and in good conscience. Shepherds are called to protect, not to abandon; to clarify, not to confuse; to stand with the sheep, especially when they are under attack.   Silence in the face of injustice is not prudence. It is a failure of charity and truth. Therefore, I express my support for Mrs. Carrie Prejean Boller.   I affirm her right, as a Catholic and as an American, to speak clearly about matters of faith, morality, and public life without being unjustly labeled or removed without explanation. I also call for greater clarity and fairness from those responsible for her removal, so that truth – not speculation – may prevail.   This moment calls for courage.   Not political courage, but Christian courage – the kind that stands firmly in truth while remaining rooted in charity. We must reject hatred in all its forms, but we must also reject the misuse of that charge to silence those who speak in defense of life and moral truth.   Let us pray for peace in the Holy Land – for Jews, for Palestinians, and for all who suffer. And let us pray for the Church, that she may always speak with clarity, charity, and unwavering fidelity to Jesus Christ, who is the Truth.   In Christ, Bishop Joseph E. Strickland

Over the past several weeks, Carrie Prejean Boller has complained that she was removed from the Presidential Commission on Religious Liberty because of her Catholic beliefs, and she has called out myself and other Catholic members of the commission for not defending her. This is absurd. Mrs. Prejean Boller was not dismissed for her religious convictions but rather for her behavior at a gathering of the Commission last month: browbeating witnesses, aggressively asserting her point of view, hijacking the meeting for her own political purposes. The Catholic position on matters of “Zionism,” to which I fully subscribe, is as follows: all forms of antisemitism are to be unequivocally condemned; the state of Israel has a right to exist; but the modern nation of Israel does not represent the fulfillment of Biblical prophecies and hence does not stand beyond criticism. If Mrs. Prejean Boller were dismissed for holding these beliefs, it is difficult to understand why I am still a member of the Commission. To paint herself as a victim of anti-Catholic prejudice or to claim that her religious liberty has been denied is simply preposterous.
Carrie Prejean Boller@CarriePrejean1

Your Excellency, you shared with me through text message to me that my position reflects Catholic teaching, especially that the modern state of Israel is not the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy. That is the position I expressed, and yet I was removed from the Religious Liberty Commission. Respectfully, it is difficult not to conclude that this commission does not truly care about religious liberty when a Catholic can be removed for faithfully articulating the Church’s teaching. Asking me to deny Catholic teaching in order to satisfy a political ideology is itself a violation of my religious freedom. As Pope Leo XIII warned, “To recoil before an enemy, or to keep silence when from all sides such clamor is raised against truth, is the part of a coward.” Whether I serve on this Commission or not, my voice will only grow louder for those being persecuted for their faith. I believe this appointment was ordained by God, and I will not abandon my Catholic faith to keep a position on a commission that has abandoned its mission. If my religious freedom is not protected, then no one’s is. Please speak up. Please stand up for Catholics. Be brave, Bishop Barron. The world needs brave men.

Same here - was a cradle Catholic - lapsed - went full Freemason - agnostic - repented - then back to full communion with the Church. None of the Jew hatred you’re seeing is organic to the Church. These are new converts, sedevacantists, SSPX Catholics “trads” that are on the fringe. This influence is coming from outside the Church.

This is real Catholicism by the way. Born and raised Catholic, met the pope, went to Rome, CCD, youth group, the whole nine yards. I’m not sure where I am right now as far as my “denomination”, but I lived this life my entire life and the first time I heard of these Jew hating/anti Israel “Catholics” was after Oct 7th and the VAST majority of them were brand new converts and online sensationalists. This new trend is Catholicism for clout, or Christ for clicks, and Jew hate sells. I have my issues with the REAL Catholic church, but antisemitism isn’t one of those issues.

It's actually brilliant. We now have the technology to create imagined scenes, and some of them are VERY entertaining. You just think it's disgusting because you're a spineless pussy and nobody ever taught you to compartmentalize the difference between real and make believe. I grew up on violent cartoons like the uncensored Bugs Bunny, Tom and Jerry, Wile E. Coyote, Yosemite Sam, Popeye... Not once, have I ever: Tried to drop an anvil, piano, or bank safe, on someone's head. I've never tried to knock someone out with a sledge hammer. I've never pointed a gun at someone that I didn't want to obliterate or remove from this mortal coil. I've never tried to gargle gasoline (petrol for you) I've never tried to launch myself into space by sitting on a bucket on top of a stick of dynamite. I've never lit a match near anything explosive. I've never killed a cat to watch their soul rise from their body to see which life they're on. I've never tried to balance a house worth of dinner plates. I've never tried to hit a mouse with a pool cue (excellent episode). And I've never eaten canned vegetables and then walked outside to kick someone's ass. Your television must've been sh!t growing up, or your parents didn't raise you in a fashion that would allow you to discern the differences between fact and fantasy. Mr. Rogers might've helped with that, it was baked into the show to teach you the difference. But I digress, your nation's contribution to educational children's programing is Teletubbies. We are not the same. Because it's disgusting and wrong is exactly why it's right. The People are tired of you and your ilk, and your sanctimonious bullshit. Sorry, not sorry. You or anyone else is not above mockery. That you don't understand ANY of that, someone should bully you until you cry, and then bully you for crying, because you sound like a little bitch. That's just one fellow's observation, as a disinterested 3rd Party.

I have a legit question. I’m Protestant but am around a lot of Catholics. Why do the Catholics I know drink, smoke, party, and swear so much more than my Evangelical friends? They are otherwise very committed to their faith, but essentially have the most vices. It’s always been a mystery to me. My son has found the same at his college which is about 20% Catholic and 80% Protestant. 25% of the students body parties and that crowd is overwhelming Catholics. Not trying to start a fight. Just legitimately confused.
