I want to introduce you to Steve. He’s 83. His wife died a few months ago and he comes to this lodge in Spring Mill, Indiana and draws. He taught art in Terre Haute, IN his whole life. Michelle Moran, 63, of Bebington, Wirral, has been banned from keeping animals for life after throwing her Jack Russell terrier Gypsy into a boating lake at Gautby Road in Birkenhead to drown. Moran claimed she believed Gypsy had cancer and tumours and could not afford veterinary euthanasia, but none of her alleged conditions were confirmed by any veterinary diagnosis. Gypsy's body was recovered from the lake by a member of the public on September 29 last year. When examined, the dog weighed just 3.7 kilograms and scored two out of nine on a body condition score, indicating severe malnourishment. Her mouth and nose were bloodied. Veterinary evidence confirmed the surrounding concrete wall would have made it almost impossible for a small or weakened dog to escape the water. Moran pleaded guilty to two offences under the Animal Welfare Act and received a 17-week suspended sentence, a lifetime animal ban, a curfew, and rehabilitation requirements. The RSPCA described Gypsy's death as horrendous and called Moran's actions extremely callous.

🚨 ALLEGED DOG ABUSER - ST ANNES ON SEA BLACKPOOL. IF YOU KNOW HIM, HAVE A WORD From another social media post: Does anyone recognise this specimen of humanity who was on the beach - south of the pier - about 7.45 this evening (Wednesday 27 May)? My friend and I (with our dogs) noticed him as he was hitting both of his dogs. He then picked one up either by its collar or scruff of the neck and let it hang! We could hear what he was saying to them (loudly) and it wasn’t pleasant. Out came my camera and I pretended to be videoing the beach but was taking this photo. He sort of walked towards us and as he did so the language he used towards the dogs changed from very unpleasant to more favourable. As he came closer I said I’d noticed the change in what he was saying to the dogs - well the beast was unleashed and a tirade of foul abusive and threatening language came forth - he was nearly screaming at us. Other people heard him as we were asked what all that was about. My only concern was for the dogs - 2 Yorkshire terriers (or similar) who seemed to be fastened together by a length of chain - could have been a ‘brace’ for walking 2 dogs on one lead.
