@DanAllred1 When my cousin would "borrow" a machine, he would always leave a grease cartridge on it when he returned it. Always wondered if he greased it while using it.

Is it an unspoken rule that every grease gun gets put away when it's empty?

@crreesor Are we comparing technology or production costs? It's never too late to advance technology. N/A mfg. in many fields has very slow response to new or better tech. Japanese developed JIT, 6 Sigma, etc. took N/A years to catch up, some haven't yet.

@Lyonseed It’s too late. Too far behind based on the trajectory of battery costs.

Good article re making EV's in Canada for EU market where 69% of new cars have a battery. "Under CETA, Canadian-made EVs would get duty-free treatment in the EU if 50 per cent or more of the vehicle’s content qualifies as “originating” in Canada." theglobeandmail.com/gift/b5e8810c3…

@crreesor The Chinese are experts at copying (or stealing) other countries tech. Why are N/A mfg not playing the same game? I saw the "industrial espionage" first hand between N/A mfgs. Rather than gov't subsidies for battery plants, provide research financing to develop better a battery.

@Lyonseed Yes. The reason they would need to set up manufacturing of batteries here. Technology and expertise would need to be provided. It seems like the only prospect for a meaningful auto sector.

@MikeSwidersky @OntarioBeef Nope, we're just dealing with feed going in the front end, and what comes out the back end. Might be a challenge herding animals over the weigh cells.

@Lyonseed Allan do you have any livestock coming? Let’s see if crop farmers should be scared to have livestock on their farms. @OntarioBeef

Just in case you weren’t already mad enough about fertilizer prices ….Fertilizer companies making huge profits while farmers struggle to afford all the fertilizer they need…. 🤔. I wonder how that DOJ antitrust investigation is going? 🙄

Doug Ford gave Honda $2.5 billion of your tax dollars. Now Honda is halting production and 1,000 jobs could be gone. Did Ford attach any conditions to that money? Any strings? Any accountability? No.

@TheBTI @atrembath @TedNordhaus US President Trump is terrible - no debate, at least from my perspective. But after reading this column about the alternative, I understand a little better why 77 million Americans voted Trump.

@PetkerFarm @Dwaynek79781424 @McblainFarms I was hoping to get ours done today, questionable or not. Supplier/applicator says we're on the list but they have a lot of potato land to cover as well. A lot of potato land north of Shelburne is planted. Our forecast doesn't look good.

@crreesor @Lyonseed @kevinfolta Some would say that milk and beef are both processed plant-based foods - or more accurately, processed forages (plant-based foods that humans can't digest).

Cheap and abundant food is reliant on cheap energy. As costs of everything from fertilzer, to harvest, to logistics increase, farmers markets and local production will gain in relevance. Get to know your local producer. #farmersmarket #agriculture medium.com/p/7d3136a8818e

@crreesor @TerryDaynard @kevinfolta Both are ruminant based. I'd be curious to know how can she assign a much higher "land use conversion" charge (maybe Brazil) against a steer vs a cow. A mature Holstein in full production will out-eat any steer and except for the finishing period, the steer is eating less grain.
