Hold up, what? My husband and I have been married since 2003 and he’s British. We met overseas, His green card lasted 10 years last time and we’ve never felt we had to prioritize getting his citizenship. He just put in for his renewal. Are you telling me, my husband has to leave the country after 22 years living in the US when his green card expires next month? We work hard, have two kids, pay taxes, have a mortgage and bills. If you love this country, you become a citizen. If you don’t, go home. 22 years is an awful long time to be here on a green card without even bothering to get citizenship. That’s an abuse of the green card, and insulting to those got a green card because they wanted to become citizens. A green card is meant as a path to citizenship. Everyone with a brain knows that. There’s nothing worse than someone who gets a green card and sits on it and gets benefits, etc, without ever bothering to become a USA citizen. Trump just sent a letter to Congress saying the war in Iran is “terminated” because today marks 60 days and in order for the President to have the authority to continue, the Constitution requires a vote from Congress. But the war is not really terminated. Trump is just restarting the clock to avoid a vote from Congress that may limit his power to wage a war on Iran, and the war is absolutely not over just because there has been a ceasefire. Also, Trump is about to start military actions again very soon. It never ended. This is unconstitutional and Congress should reclaim it’s constitutional authority.
