like i was an OG i had a windows mixed reality since like 2018 and all i ever played was vrchat, rec room and beat sabee

its crazy how hard VR fell off there just isnt anything anymore

@SamCole @Heaney555 As in industry, we need to do much more IRL marketing. We are is something you have to experience to understand and unless we’re putting heads and headsets that’s not happening.

When we get people into a headset, the two biggest objections collapse within about 15 seconds 1. 'that's not for me' 2. 'no way that delivers a real workout' Both just vanish through direct experience This is a positioning and placement problem, not a product problem

@AndyMorphs I mean most people i saw were happy about horizon worlds going. The only people I saw posting it as a negative all had quest affiliate links in their name

I’m more disappointed by Rec Room going than when I heard about Horizon Worlds. Can’t be the only one.

@thedowd I have yet to encounter an ar/mr app or headset that was worth tolerating abominable passthrough quality. Give me a good vr world over that anyday

Bigscreen Beyond 2 proved to me that even when the best PCVR headset is super light, it doesn’t disappear. It’s still something you put on your face, feel pressing against it, and has weight (even if less than alternatives). Friction like this is unavoidable if it’s really a VR headset (of any weight). In my opinion, reducing weight does not impact the downsides of wearing a headset at all much. The solution is to make worlds that are worth it. If you’re maximizing comfort and minimizing friction, go to AR.

When I first played FF7 Remake and Rebirth, I never quite understood the significance of this moment. I didn’t fully understand Zack and what he went through, but having played Crisis Core and OG FF7, this reunion is fucking insane. I might have to replay the remakes…

@Shodah10 Cutting the block chain requirement out is great. However with age verification unless you have a method that doesn't require giving up my biometric data, goverment id, or credit card info its still a hard pass. Way too big a risk when the 3rd party inevitably leaks/ gets hacked

Thanks for coming in, we've still got a long way to go. We announced our plans for a Steam client at our last dev meetup, which should help people who aren’t fans of the blockchain technology we currently use. There are plenty more exciting things coming though.

Horizon Worlds is officially being discontinued on Meta Quest headsets. You will no longer be able to access Horizon Worlds at all on the headset and unfortunately Hyperspace co-op rooms are going away as well which is a real travesty. This is both exciting and sad honestly. Sad for those who spent so much time building worlds. Exciting to see Meta continues its streamlining of the Quest platform towards VR gaming.
