@Jamesmolesruns Athletics clubs provide the volunteers that keep the LM running but I doubt they will get more places. I also doubt that the 500 cap on British champs will be raised/GFA places increased. LM stopped being a ‘runners’ event years ago.Its just about being the biggest charity event

Think the detail here is important. AW saying male and female elite races on different days. Good to understand how the elite women feel. And whether champs/GFA will double up across both days too. And will athletics clubs get double places...?

@andrewwoodroffe London is run due largely to volunteers esp athletic club volunteers . I wonder if they would be able to source enough volunteers for 2 days esp due to the the reduction in incentives in recent years for run clubs by reducing club allocated places for baggage handling etc

I’m not actually for this Not everyone NEEDS to do a marathon and it’s become such a jump just to go straight in Marathons should still be special London should be special and having two days will ruin that completely 1.1 mil apply but how many would be prepared?!

Olivia “Liv” Perrotto (July 28, 2010 – January 14, 2026) Olivia “Liv” Perrotto, a radiant and courageous 15-year-old from Williamsport, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family in the comfort of her home. Born on July 28, 2010, Liv was diagnosed with Undifferentiated Sarcoma at the age of 10 in March 2021. What followed was an extraordinary five-year journey marked by relentless strength, grace, and an unshakable love for life—especially everything related to space. Despite grueling treatments, multiple relapses, surgeries, clinical trials, and the fierce progression of her illness, Liv never lost her spark. She became a beacon of hope and inspiration far beyond her years. In 2021, on her 11th birthday, the Inspiration4 crew invited her to witness their historic launch, turning one of life’s darkest moments into a memory of pure wonder. Later, she was honored to design the zero-gravity indicator (the beloved “Asteroid”) for the Polaris Dawn mission—a piece of her forever flown among the stars. Liv’s bravery touched countless lives, from fellow cancer fighters and space enthusiasts to strangers moved by her story. She dreamed of going to space herself and, in many ways, she already did.
