Of all the short stories I’ve written, my favorite is Wayfaring Stranger. In this Christian fantasy tale, a simple farmer does battle with evil wizards in his quest to save one scared little girl. The best part is, the ebook is available for only 99¢! amazon.com/Wayfaring-Stra…

Argh! I’ve been waiting for the day when Jehovah’s Witnesses come to my door so I can talk to them, but the one time they finally show up, I’m sick with the stomach flu! I’m feeling good enough to chat, but didn’t want to get them sick. Ah well, another day perhaps

@FoxyVixsune How long after the baby falls asleep are you putting him down? They take a bit to fall into a deeper sleep where putting him down won’t wake him back up, so maybe let him sleep longer on your shoulder before putting him down. May also just have to nap while he sleeps on you

Attention parents: I have been trying to get the baby down for 7 hours. We feed, we change diaper, we feed again, we try burping, he passes out, I set him down. 3 minutes later, we started the process anew. Pls help. I am so tired.

I’m neutral about Stephen Colbert writing a Lord of the Rings movie - he might be great or terrible. But WHY would you set the story after RotK? There are SO MANY tales throughout the 3 Ages of Middle Earth that would make great cinema, why go beyond the perfect ending we have?

@HannahWardEdu Had no idea, but that’s kind of hilarious. I need to read more about her dad, sounds like a wild guy! Can’t wait to show my wife this and see if she knew.

@SCentralized Honestly, I enjoyed the Mace vs Palpatine portion of the fight, but the 3 other Masters dying was silly. On paper it’s cool “he took out 3 Masters in the blink of an eye!” But it looked silly on screen.

@jtimsuggs Even though the ST and PT are similar for being divisive among fans, I still think they're fundamentally different. The PT is fun and has heart in a way the ST just...doesn't. Even if you show kids all 9 movies in 50 years, I think they'll mostly like the PT more than the ST

Whether you love or loathe the Sequel Trilogy, there’s no denying that he’s absolutely right about this. I’ve honestly seen a lot more positive posts about these films, as well as a huge desire to see those characters appear again in future Star Wars stories. Even online fan campaigns for projects like The Hunt For Ben Solo to become a reality are extremely telling of exactly that. And, for what it’s worth, something tells me that we won’t have to wait much longer for that to become a reality.

“The sequels are no more polarising than the prequels were when they came out," says BB-8 actor and puppeteer Brian Herring. “All the people who are upset about the sequels are too young to remember how upset the people when the original ones came out were, except they now have the internet. If the internet had been around to the extent it was around when the prequels came out, you'd have seen exactly the same stuff play out. And I think in 10 years' time, you're going to see what you're seeing with the sequels, because the sequels have a huge fan base and I meet them all the time, but they're all much younger than the people complaining on the internet about how much they didn't like. It's perfectly fine, if you don't like them, you don't like them. Everything's not for everyone. And I just think that these things are all generational and I think Battlestar Galactica said it best, 'this has all happened before, it will all happen again.'" My wife and I decided we want to read an Agatha Christie novel together this year! She’s never read any, and I’ve only read the Miss Marple short stories. (We’ve seen the new movies though). What book do y’all recommend we try? Bonus points if it has archaeology.

@TedAtchley3 A follow-up thought: your story is a perfect example of the dangers of Christless Conservatism. I’m conservative, but I’m a Christian first. The # of people I know who get those things swapped is frightening! We need to follow Jesus, refusing to be drawn away by political figures

@TedAtchley3 I really appreciate you sharing the article, Ted! I've never read Ayn Rand, but a lot of my conservative circle have recommended her over the years. That's exactly the kind of worry I have: will a "bad book" cause someone to spiral or stumble?

I didn't expect to face a moral dilemma when I got a Hoard of free books, but suddenly I am. If a book would be harmful for someone to read, is it right for me to sell/give it to them? Can a bad book be useful for research to defeat a bad argument? Where's the line?

@LauraRbnsn Wanted to chime in briefly, but I think you misunderstood Megan’s tweet. There’s an underbelly of guys saying women with sinful pasts are basically irredeemable. These are rhetorical questions amid several tweets she’s made, highlighting those terminally online guys’ foolishness

@Alpaca_Capital I worked at a machine shop for a year. Nasty chemicals, extremely loud, mildly dangerous (not nearly as bad as this shipyard work). Fairly technical, had to learn to program machines. Made about as much as I would’ve made at Buc-ee's. And they wondered why turnover was so high!

@TedAtchley3 I’m grateful I’m not alone! May I ask what the terrible book was? I use the Gnostic Gospels as an example. For someone grounded in the faith, they’re useful to learn some roots of false ideas that exist today. But for a new believer, they’re just going to sow confusion and doubt

@ReadWriteRyan96 I've been on various sides of this. I've had a "bad book" gifted to me that sent me on a multi year spiral. I've held our "bad books" in my hand and wondered what to do with them. Sorry to not really have an answer but I wanted you to know someone else has dealt with this too.

@TedAtchley3 That’s hilarious. I’ve only golfed a little bit, and I’m terrible at it. I once shanked my golf ball into the middle of a funeral!

@AbigailFalanga Exactly! And a lot of the explanations are there in the background, we just don’t realize it on a plain reading. The dreams that many characters have, leading them in the right direction such as to Elrond’s Council, come from the Valar. You don’t get that very explicitly though

@jtimsuggs I enjoyed the story and overall idea a lot in this one! I felt like the philosophical debates slowed it down some (what is a Jedi’s purpose? An interesting topic for a blog post!) I did feel like there were too many books, but by golly did they take some big swings.

After putting it off for far too long, I’m finally starting my first *real* read-through of The New Jedi Order books! Finished Vector Prime for the second time yesterday and it was somehow even more emotionally devastating. But I also can’t help but really appreciate just how unique this era of Star Wars storytelling feels. Honestly have heard nothing but incredible things about this series, so I couldn’t be more excited to see where it goes moving forward. Hoping for the best for the galaxy…but I’m bracing myself for the worst 👀

@ReadWriteRyan96 I have a few copies of his original books now and I keep meaning to compare them to these revised versions to see what they kept and how much they changed.

Oh boy, I found a George Macdonald book in the Book Hoard! It’s going in my collection for su - wait. “Retold for today’s reader?!” Oh no. What do y’all think? Anyone read one of these retellings, are they worth even keeping?
