She gave him an ABSOLUTE DISCHARGE, despite him pleading GUILTY. She also sparked outrage by praising Algerian rapist Hamadache Hamza for settling in Britain and setting up a hairdressing business. She said that the predator deserved “credit” for overcoming his “very difficult background” to become a successful business owner in Scotland.

LABOUR COUNCILLOR JAILED FOR 12 YEARS AFTER SEXUALLY ABUSING BOY Labour councillor Mark Burton has been jailed after sexually abusing a boy. Burton, 57, had previously been jailed in 2012 for 22 months for sexually assaulting a girl and possessing indecent images while serving as a Labour councillor in Darlington from 2007-2012. The offences against the boy predate offences against the girl and still while Burton was a serving councillor. Yesterday he was convicted of assault by p3netration, sexual assault of a child and sexual activity with a child at Durham Crown Court. Judge Nathan Adams said he has shown "no remorse" and jailed him for 12 years. Burton is already the subject of an indefinite sexual harm prevention order. He will be on sex offender's register for life.
