Now break it down in to how many Canadians view JRE. I imagine not too many non-Canadians read, watch or listen to Canadian based MSM - Bell Media, Postmedia, Corus, Rogers, Quebecor, Torstar, CBC, ICI, Woodbridge/Thomson, LaPresse, LeDevoir, CP, Maclean’s. I could not say which ones are directly funded by the government except CBC. Hopefully (I know hope is not a plan) independent journalism will return with the Newman’s of the country leading the way!!!

Just to give all of you a visual perspective of what going on the @joerogan podcast looks like in terms of total viewership VS CTV and CBC. Joe has 𝟲𝟲𝟴% more viewers than CBC & Joe has 𝟭,𝟯𝟴𝟰% more viewers than CTV. & Joe has 𝟰𝟬𝟲% more viewers than CTV/CBC combined. 🤣

If Alberta and Saskatchewan formed a new country together, what should it be called? Do we keep Alberta, given its larger population and leadership on independence? Bring back Buffalo, a historic proposed name for the region? Or create something new?

AI inference tokens are not cheap. Is this a cost savings measure (like to know how) or another revenue subscription attempt ??? Wish they would focus on lowering costs throughout the supply chain (including government policies), that would "transform" not only my shopping experience but my quality of life.

Not a problem in Canada, not available, Musk really does not like doing business here, CT AWD starts at $139,990 CAD, Cyberbeast $167,990. And to think in my foolish view that Musk was to lead the transition from ICE with affordable EVs when I put my CT reservation deposit down many moons ago. Ford was my next bet which has fizzled as well. Bring on the Korean and Chinese EV’s !!!!

Maybe high density living is the problem to our social problems. The pursuit of more of everything is showing the decay of society. From your view of needing more to meet your goals requires population growth to keep that machine running. Perhaps this ideology is flawed for the betterment of mankind on a whole.

Another disappointment, first the Lightning now this. I have been buying F150’s every 3 years for the last 21 years. I was ready to buy the Lighting in 2025 per my 3 year cycle but the value was not there for the $100K+ price tag (I live in Canada, remember us). So now will see what the Asian manufacturers will bring. Don’t let the engineers dictate what they think your customers will buy, just look at the Cybertruck. Former-Ford customer.

“To the wind, it is no longer a truck.” Efficiency is the foundation of our new Universal Electric Vehicle platform. Small changes can lead to big breakthroughs. Every small improvement, every millimeter, can improve performance, reduce costs & add value for our customers.
Jim Farley@jimfarley98

The Universal Electric Vehicle platform is one of the most audacious and important projects in @Ford’s history. What's exciting to me is not just what we’re making – a fantastic new truck and family of vehicles – but how we’re doing it. By chasing physics, not competitors. Watch this deep dive from Alan Clarke and his team to see a peek behind the curtain at American innovation in action. This is how we will compete and win against China and the rest of the world. fromtheroad.ford.com/us/en/articles…

Are we seeing the same “engineer knows best what truck buyers want” that made the Cybertruck a failure? As we have all seen, people just want a depenadable vehicle that they can afford. EV’s were going in this direction until the fascination with trinkets and trash became their focus, and now pushing for the ARR business model. Now we will have to depend on those common sense manufacturers from Asia to provide the solution.

NEWS: Ford has announced that its upcoming ~$30,000 mid-size electric truck will have 48v architecture and have 15% more aerodynamic efficiency than any other pickup truck on the market today. EV truck info: • LFP battery (prismatic). Structural battery, a first for Ford. LFP Battery made in Michigan. • New regen-braking design that saves $100 in battery cost. • Ford says "if the same battery was married to the aerodynamics of the most aerodynamically efficient mid-size gas truck in the U.S., we believe our new electric truck would have nearly 50 miles or 15% more driving range. And a 30% improvement at highway speeds." • Truck uses unicastings (gigacastings) • Reduces parts by 20% versus a typical vehicle, with 25% fewer fasteners, 40% fewer workstations dock-to dock in the plant & 15% faster assembly time. • Side mirror body size is 20% smaller than a conventional mirror, adding ~1.5 miles of range. • New tire wake design: "We guided the front tire wake directly toward the rear tires, effectively "hiding" the rear wheels." This adds 4.5 miles of range. • Wiring harness is more than 4,000 feet (1.3 kilometers) shorter and 22lbs kilograms lighter than the one used in their first-gen electric SUV. • The new midsize truck is forecasted to have more passenger room than the latest Toyota RAV4, even before you include the frunk and the truck bed. • The new midsize truck will have a targeted 0-60 time of 4.5s. • Completely redesigned EV architecture • Deliveries start in the U.S. in 2027 with a target starting MSRP of $30,000. Ford: "If we succeed, we will have a family of vehicles that we expect to compete on price with the best in the world, including gas vehicles. We used a Formula 1-inspired development cycle to develop this vehicle. We shifted our focus toward a "fail fast, learn faster" mentality."

Interesting comment, should governments restrict power consumption for non-essential uses including boats, ATV's, number of vehicles, miles traveled, size of primary residence, multiple homes, temperature you keep your home at, flights, cruises... Or just ration energy out and you decide what your portion is used for. I wonder how many voters one would get with that type of policy.

The conventional wisdom is that the Democrats will disband ICE when or if they get power. Even supposing the peaceful transfer of power is still possible, or will be in two years’ time — ICE is already a vast paramilitary force, largely made up of fanatical Trump/MAGA partisans; it will be much larger and more fanatical then. Before it can be disbanded, it will have to be disarmed. Good luck with that.
G Elliott Morris@gelliottmorris

Another good reason for Democrats to try to get every reform possible, including reduced funding, for ICE while they still have leverage theguardian.com/us-news/2026/f…

When a corporation focuses on its shareholders and not its customer base, does not end well. Or when engineering teams think they know what the consumer wants because they are smarter without talking to them or experiencing their daily challenges, customers will buy from companies that listen. Lose Lose ending. The fizz is gone.
