@greeborunner @adamboxer1 If someone is flighty, repeatedly, then given how implementation is over time they are definitely someone who we should be extremely careful of listening to.

As a teacher, this is what I want to say to SOME parents: Stop making excuses for your kids. STOP IT. Teach them to earn things, not demand things. Hold them to a higher standard. Challenge them. That way, when I try to challenge them, they’ll know we both expect it.

When I started teaching in 2000, heads were in the role for a long time. They really knew their communities. It feels like people move on so swiftly these days. Maybe I’m just old and misremembering. The past is a foreign country: they do things differently there.

Hi all, 9Z have bought some cows and are now taking orders for milk, cheese and yoghurt. Nothing to do with their Future Business Leaders Scheme but the fact that their English Homework “Keep a diary for four weeks” was put onto TEAMS as “Keep a dairy for four weeks”. Thanks x

Another wonderful read! "Boundaries don’t weaken with time. They weaken when leaders do." "Inclusion cannot mean tolerating behaviour that harms the education, safety, or dignity of others.Being humane does not mean lowering expectations it means holding boundaries honestly.."

🌟 Sad news about death of Canadian-born actress Catherine O’Hara age of 71. I'll always remember her for her iconic roles in Home Alone and Beetlejuice. I've never watched Schitt's Creek she was on. Would you recommend?

Me: "ChatGPT, are these berries poisonous?" ChatGPT: "No, these are 100% edible. Excellent for gut health." Me: "Awesome" # eats berries .... 60 minutes later Me: "ChatGPT, I'm in the emergency ward, those berries were poisonous." ChatGPT: "You're right. They are incredibly poisonous. Would you like me to list 10 other poisonous foods?" And this, folks, is the current state of AI reliability.

@Mr_Raichura @GCSE_Macbeth @greeborunner Depends on the set HW! When my kids were in primary school, diff Year groups had project work for e.g. building a castle, lighthouse etc! Trust me as a parent I hated it! The competition among parents with fierce castle models & lighthouses was laughable in the playground!

This kind of thinking forgets the value of hard work. It will only serve to hold ALL children back from reaching their potential. Bad HW can be a waste of time. But getting kids to practise what they’ve learned at schools is crucial. I don’t understand how HW can be inequitable.
The Thinking School@Thinkingschool2

I lead two primary schools. Homework is inherently inequitable. Children should not need homework to succeed in their learning - the school day should be sufficient.

A poor PUNJABI father of a girl child worked as a carpenter . When his daughter decided to play cricket, he backed her . Got her into professional cricket training. His colleagues mocked him & laughed at him . He had a firm belief that his girl was special . The girl turned into a fine alrounder . When TEAM INDIA was struggling against SL in the WC opener, she scored the decisive runs, gave India a triumphant start to the campaign . She was consistently decent with the bat & ball. Scored a quick fire cameo & hit the winning runs in the semi finals, was again decent with the bat & ball in the finals , took the most crucial catch to dimiss LAURA WOLVAARDT . Her father watched the finals on a big screen with the villagers , probably also along with those who once laughed at him . The man broke out after his daughter became a World champion yesterday. The name is AMANJOT KAUR. I was watching the match in HARYANA , a state that was once infamous for patriarchy, high female foetecide, bothersome male female ratio . I could hear crackers after every single S.AFRICAN wicket, the city went haywire after the final wicket fell . It was like DEEPAWALI out here . That was so refreshing . AMANJOT KAUR … watta story .
