For node i usually just run a pnpm or npm. Sometimes i use the command line for winget, git commands for cloning, or some niche stuff like chocolatey. There's all types of weird package managers i have to dig through readme's to understand. Most of the time I don't even need to open github. But when I do, it's to go to a release page to download a zip or an exe.

@SacriGrape @KainYusanagi @xatzimi1 @ShitpostRock2 I agree with you, but the way it's intended to be used is not how it's used 90% of the time. Most devs use it for distribution as well as collaboration. The releases section location obviously causes confusion for first time users and forces them to struggle with poor UI.

@SAjoats @KainYusanagi @xatzimi1 @ShitpostRock2 GitHub is a service for hosting git version control repos. It is not intended to be a service for hosting your builds. You need to yell at the people pointing at the GitHub source page, not GitHub for making it more clear what releases are

It would be much clearer if the download for the latest release were placed prominently at the top of the page, labeled something like “Download Latest Release.” Right now, it’s tucked away in a side section that feels more like a margin note than a primary action. On mobile, it’s even harder to find and buried at the bottom after a long scroll, making it easy to miss entirely. The whole thing looks like it's built to look like a shit react template with 0 work done towards user experience. It's like they pay somebody to make the website worse. Making websites that are actually mobile apps was a mistake.

@SAjoats @xatzimi1 @ShitpostRock2 Not programming tutorials. Tutorials on how to click there, for ignoramuses who can't see the word "Releases" with the bright green "Latest" and tag marker, and/or refuse to scroll down on the page of which the description below links to it separately and says it flat out.

A newly discovered security vulnerability known as Copy Fail, or CVE-2026-31431, has been disclosed in the Linux kernel. It affects virtually every major Linux distribution released since 2017. The flaw sits in the kernel’s cryptographic subsystem and stems from a logic error introduced back in 2017: >It allows any local user without special privileges to escalate directly to root. >The exploit is unusually simple: a short Python script can reliably achieve this by modifying data only in the system’s memory cache rather than on disk. >In practice, an attacker can target any readable file, such as a setuid-root binary like sudo or su, and alter it only in RAM. >The change is invisible to file integrity monitors and leaves no trace on the hard drive. >The same technique also works from inside containers, potentially allowing an escape from Docker, Kubernetes, or similar environments to compromise the host server. >This makes Copy Fail both stealthy and highly portable across systems. Patches have already begun rolling out from major distributors. System administrators should apply the latest kernel updates and reboot as soon as possible.

The problem with the red button/blue button game is that it’s a zero stakes hypothetical. How about we make it more serious by putting our 𝕏 accounts on the line? Everyone on 𝕏 has the option to take a vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone keeps their account. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button keep their account. Which button would you press? Post evidence of your vote. If you vote blue and end up in a minority you have to delete your 𝕏 account.

Thank you for translating! I don't think I can give accurate feedback without knowing the characters or the original language, but just going off of common english... The first phrase that stuck out to me was "That's reasonless" when the character described shaving. It's more common for someone to say "that's pointless" "that's useless" or "why bother..." Depending on the mood. Maybe if she was an uptight nerd or robotic she might even say "that's illogical". It's tough to say for sure, but it sounded off to me. Thank you for the hard work :)

I'm enjoying danganronpa. Playing it for the first time. It's like a fast-pace Phoenix Wright but with worse character development. One question? Is this all some kind of prank?

@Alex_San @akuna_kun That's not the argument. The argument is that red pointlessly creates risk for others. Considering that blue is the more logically efficient choice, red is the choice that more completely imposes the actual risk.

@iamaheron_ I'm gonna tell him that I'm gonna defect no matter what he does. The choice is now his to make. And then when he chooses to defect out of spite, I will actually choose not too. Be free brother.

You and another person are both convicted of a terrible crime. You may both choose to say nothing or rat on the other. If one person defects, they go free, and the other gets imprisoned. If you both ally or both defect, then both of you are set free. What do you do?

Everyone on earth takes a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone gets a big mac. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button get a big mac. Which button would you press?

Sony patented an AI that studies exactly how you play, then deliberately starts countering your favorite tactics to make you better How it works: >The AI quietly watches how you play (aggressive rusher, Stealth sniper..) >It first builds levels that reward your preferred style so you feel like a god. >As soon as you start crushing it consistently, the game flips: it generates scenarios that punish your go-to moves and force you into new ones. >If you start raging or failing too hard, it switches back to “support mode.” It’s basically a dynamic difficulty system that isn’t just “make enemies stronger” The patent also mentions machine-learning models that can read emotional state via sensors
