I've seen the reports linking Arsenal with Pablo Barrios and after spending time watching him properly, I have to give serious credit to Arsenal's scouting department. Imagine this midfield: Declan Rice (6) Pablo Barrios (Left 8) Martin Ødegaard (Right 8) That isn't just balanced, it solves so many of Arsenal's current issues. You get better progression from deep. You become much harder to press because all three midfielders are comfortable receiving under pressure. Possession becomes cleaner and more controlled. The athleticism across midfield goes up another level. And when Arsenal lose the ball? Good luck trying to play through Rice, Barrios and Ødegaard pressing as a unit. People always ask for "technical security" in midfield. Barrios gives you exactly that without sacrificing intensity or defensive work.
