UPDATE: Government has proposed a major salary enhancement for RDCs, with their pay expected to rise from the current UGX 2,2M to UGX 9m.
Under the proposal, salaries for Deputy RDCs would increase from UGX 1,2M to UGX 5m, while Assistant RDCs would see their pay rise from UGX 800,000 to UGX 2,6m.
Uganda currently has 146 RDCs, 170 Deputy RDCs and 432 Assistant RDCs.
