Banks require you to call ahead for larger withdrawals in most cases. They don't keep large amounts of cash like that laying around. It's a security thing. They usually need 3 days to process the withdrawal and have the cash delivered to the branch for pickup. That isn't a new thing. It has been that way in most banks for a while now. I dealt with similar when I tried withdrawing a large amount of money for a cash transaction.

It will never cease to amaze me how someone can turn a basic stop into a felony in a matter of minutes
