@CathRoser I don't think the general ideal of submission to the Pope needs to necessarily entail full agreement on every single belief or teaching or whatever. But like, I'd imagine some real sense of submission to and being pastored to by the officeholder, similar to a priest

If Roman Catholicism were true, then it seems obvious to submit to Vatican II and the general libby pastoral style and guidance of the recent Popes. Being a trad/latin-mass catholic seems rebellious and kind of copey about what's taught regarding the office of the Papacy

my entire life as a trans woman irl I've always been more comfortable hanging out with weird nerdy men who take a laissez-faire attitude to my queerness then i have with faux positive allies and petite queers because im way less likely to experience transmisogyny that way.

The sheer ridiculousness of Vatican II was probably one of the biggest factors in my initial decision on whether I should have converted to "Catholicism" or Orthodoxy.
It was either accept the truly ridiculous Vatican II, or embrace Sedevacantism which does correct for the ridiculousness of Vatican II, but also gets ridiculous in it's own way, too. So the choice ended up being a fairly easy one.

IMO Namae-ism of being like very conservative but reverant novus ordo and with the universalizing tendencies from Vatican II seems the most coherent if you want to be very right wing and catholic
