@bbculp Questions; will there be a long term psychological impact of being so data driven/data “obsessed”? Burn out/drained? Will the “method” be adopted with success, beyond such a very, very, very small subset of hyper detailed enthusiasts?

@bbculp In relation to Tri, a “method” used for the success of a very, very, very small subset of athletes, who are may be the most monitored and tested athlete group globally, and a “method” that holds almost no value (yet) (without professional support) for every day people.

For a little project I'm working on: When you hear the term "Norwegian Method," what comes to mind and what questions do you have?

@levelsio 🤣 we know AC exists, just like I’m sure you know winter and summer tyres for transport vehicles exist. Just because something exists doesn’t mean it’s then a necessary thing to own. Why have AC if AC isn’t needed for 80 - 90 % of a year?

I can't believe Brits and Euros don't know AC exists I'm in Bangkok all the time and the average temperature is 18'C-22'C anywhere you go

This includes lots of kicking & to be able to swim all 4 strokes (they compliment each other). This also includes knowing how to turn correctly (4 strokes). If you have limited time, you'll always be a shite. That is all.

@TriathleteMag Nice one @Timheming 👍 The business model I think could have made (would make) the PTO fly is…teams. Properly done. Teams (clubs) can (do) bridge pros to the heartbeat of our sport…age-groupers. IM has 3500-ish registered clubs. The fragmented ecosystem could be very powerful.

Back from Ibiza and having now watched broadcast, cameraperson(s) on the bike leg was outstanding 👏. Seen a lot of long course racing & IMO was the best yet in being able to scan the pace line to show where as many riders as possible were placed - even with the 20m draft zone

@Timheming …was Collin tested after his PTO Open win? If so, are there samples that can be further tested? Isn’t there a decent case of fraud for a case like this? Would love if you (or other proper journos) dove into this.

@Timheming You’d be doing the sport a huge service of good if you tried to uncover some big black holes currently. Collin states ITA did a deeper investigation, how was Mikal not aware or included in that? Collin said he paid back sponsors, how did the McKenzie’s have no knowledge?

@Simon_Olney This is an inaccurate perspective. Zwift, Super League, PTO, Strava, have not and do not build products unless there is investment. They are enabled to create great products, at the speed necessary, and grow to profitability, because of investors.

@bbculp @ChallengeRoth What a story Roth could write for itself over the next 2 - 3 years, I think it’s theirs for the taking. It has all the ingredients, and also mainstream broadcast ingredients. It now has momentum and an opportunity.

It should never need to expand its entry numbers or go to 2 days. That’s greed. Kona made the IM brand what it became. Put brand equity and prestige first.

It's clear to every man and his dog 2 days in Kona can't work. It's also clear to everyone that an event in Kona with c.2500 ppl isn't sustainable/profitable

When I finally have time to write the definitive history of @IRONMANtri, their decision to have a split-gender world championship will be the start of the chapter called "The Downfall."
