@WashCo_OR @RepSalinas Some kids don't have parents, some parents are in jail, some parents work 3 jobs and still can't put food on the table. It always comes back to taxes with you people. You know our taxes are progressive, right? The people that need food assistance don't pay much in tax.

So why are you not asking the question of why cant the parents pay for their own families nutrition? We agree food is vital for health. However, everyone should be able to afford their own food, rent, etc. we should not rely on hand outs or for other people to pay our way in society. Why is our society not able to survive on the paychecks ppl get? Too much taxes being taken out?

@WashCo_OR @RepSalinas Food assistance is a net benefit to society. Kids do better in school, it provides more disposable income for families, and helps our farmers. Republicans are immoral for wanting to cut it.

Why not put the energy into children that are being hurt and harmed over a food source and trade industry that many value? The way that the initiative will end up becoming if it were to ever get voted in you would be taken away the Umpqua dairy and Tillamook dairy Farms, which is vital in the Oregon economy. Are you even from Oregon? What is wrong with the current laws that are already on the books for all of this you want everyone to become vegetarian or vegan? Why are you pushing your beliefs on everybody else?

So why are you trying to ruin Oregon‘s historical culture? We have two main dairy farms that would be affected by this initiative #UmpquaDairy & #TillamookFarm. It would also increase the cost in eggs and dairy. How do you expect people to manage the population of rodents in Oregon? Please explain yourself! Are you even from Oregon!

@GuntherEagleman This campaign is not being pushed by "Oregon Democrats." There are no elected officials to our knowledge, in either party, advocating for this initiative (unfortunately). Ballot initiatives are non-partisan. Anyone who wants to protect animals from being killed is a supporter.
