New Liberal Cascadian and Antifascist. Republicans are traitors to this great American Experiment, and have no American values. If I block you, I won.

@Oregonian Most Canadians I've talked to don't go to Ptown because it has turned into a toilet like most of the I5 corridor.

@Oregonian Blame Portland and Oregon's failure to attract tourists on Trump, when everyone knows that the problem is home grown. It's the policies, stupid. Recriminalize drug use, possession and homelessness. Clean up the streets. Repeal sanctuary status of cities and state.

Ohhhhh whaaaaat? You mean to tell me that it ISN'T the riots, violent crime, wild schizos, closed businesses, shit and trash everywhere, or the numerous corpses floating up in the river? Mean orange man is actually the problem, yeah lol. Have they heard how cheap and available drugs are here?

I can’t believe Trump told Iran to “open the fuckin’ strait.” I miss normal times when our foreign policy was Obama just sending Iran pallets of cash to fund terrorism and help fund their nuclear program.

@WallStreetMav Literally the opposite happened. They stopped their nuclear program and we had inspectors proving this.

Reporter: Why would Iranians want you to blow up their infrastructure, cut off their power? "They would be willing to suffer for their freedom... they're saying 'Please keep bombing. Do it.'" Of all the things that never happened, that never happened the most.

@Somerandoaccou1 @DSPetolicchio We literally had literally tests and poll taxes in the past of the USA to keep people from voting. The fact that you want to go back to that is deplorable. We should learn from history and progress this great nation forward.

Well, I think if they can meet the qualifyers for being granted the ability to vote, they should be able to do so. I know you believe that restrictions on anyone for any reason when it comes to voting is some type of crazy idea meant to keep women and blacks down, but I just want sane and literate people to be the people steering the ship. Letting everyone vote with the only requirement being that you're 18, is absurdity when you want to sit and apply logic for how that will obviously play out in the long term. Why would you support a person voting that can't even name what the 3 branches of our government are? You think they are able to reason and cast their vote for a candidate based on rational through processes of why they are doing what they are doing? Or is that person more likely to vote for the candidate that ran the most ads and had their name on TV and radio more than "the other guy" Because that's what low information, non engaged people do when they walk into a voting booth. Again, this is an asinine position to take.

when aoc had a chance to pressure harris, she instead went on stage to propagate the false claim that the white house was working toward a ceasefire. i don't know how so many ppl are comfortable with that. it was morally bad and even bad for the harris campaign strategically!

@SokchoChicken @soulkhan Centrists won 1/3 elections against a pedophile crook. Centrists lied about Biden's dementia, defended his support of Israel's genocide, and then he refused to step down until way too late.

No matter what, there is going to be some type of uproar and outspoken opposition to changing rules to restrict the voting process for anyone. No way around it. But when you come to what will it ACTUALLY take to fix such an abhorrent situation that the country has found itself in, voting reform, which restrictions are applied for the incompetent, and those who would fall under some type of category of non-participants, like not working when able, unable to provide for themselves at a level of subsistence and require higher than the average amount of economic assistance in a yearly repetitive manner, (this could be beyond some type of cutoff time, so that those falling in hard times through no fault of their own are still afforded their vote for a set period if they previously met requirements) , or if they are unable to pass a basic test on the functions and structure of the US government, the checks and balance system between 3 branches, and can't demonstrate constitutional literacy... I do think this is an avenue worth exploring. It's honestly absurd that we have universal suffrage which let those with an IQ below the line of actual retardation vote just as if they were a working, and gainfully employed person, or an entrepreneur, or a veteran of the military etc. People that are not literate, or aren't able to function in the role of a citizen in their own sufficient capacity and under their own agency, should absolutely not be able to vote those that ARE all of that, into conscription, or to take their resources, assets or wealth to fund God only knows. I think there should be some criteria to meet to have voting privileges and that they just need to be fair in their availability to access and complete, and they must be reasonably attained and achievable under the American economic system by the average person. (government literacy test /gainfully employed and net positive contributor/ demonstrates agency over self) We don't let a set of 3 or 4 children in a larger family, out vote the 2 adults who are the parents and discuss and agree on the agenda for family's vacations, dinner plans, access to house utilities, etc. They don't get to out vote the parents just because they are a larger group. This is because they are not able to function as a well thought and reasoned individual, they aren't able to tell you the best investment options for your retirement, they can't operate with any understanding, the general functions of the home infrastructure like circuit panels, security cameras, jumper cable connection when the car battery is dead, building a charcoal fire to cook on safely, etc. Letting them have a vote, that had real consequences for the household, is ludicrous. So is universal suffrage for anyone with the only requirement being that you are 18 years old, and (although this is debated heavily) be a citizen of the jurisdiction in which you are voting. It's absurd, it's how we got here, it's the insane running the asylum, and it needs to be addressed.

People don't seem to understand what is happening. Iran has decided that it will control the straits of hormuz for the indefinite future. That means, we, global energy consumers, will be paying an additional energy tax, since it will take years if not decades for Iran to repair & reconstruct the civilian infrastructure being destroyed. We are going to pay to rebuild Iran, not Iran. It's strange that people don't understand this.
