NEW: An arrest warrant issued for a Tipton man and state employee accused of 10 counts of child exploitation and possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). In October of last year, law enforcement received a cyber tip that screen name "swimusadad" was on KIK uploading CSAM. According to the probable cause, detectives learned that account belonged to Matthew Bills who works at the State of Indiana Department of Administration. Police say they found 33 images and 26 videos of children being sexually abused and shared a video of a child being raped. The probable cause also details messages they claim are between Bills and other users on KIK talking about their fetishes involving children. In one message Bills says, "What is the youngest and oldest you have? I would love to see young ones." Detectives estimated some of the children were as young as 2 in the videos. Police believe the 10 charges he now faces were committed between April and August of 2025. Bills admitted to police he had his KIK account for about 6-10 years. A warrant for his arrest was issued today. He is now in custody.

We who led the conservative effort to redraw our Congressional maps are devastated about yesterday's vote. Myself, Sen. Gaskill and the other 17 senators who voted yes recognize the consequences of what it will mean to have socialists control Congress. Yesterday, we failed our conservative voters, our colleagues in the Indiana House, our Indiana Congressional Delegation and the President who won our state by 19 points.  Today I submitted my resignation as Assistant Majority Floor Leader in charge of Communications to Senate President Pro Tempore Rod Bray, effective immediately. Our Caucus will have rebuilding to do to repair communication and trust with voters, and I will focus on that effort outside of Senate Leadership.

This Thanksgiving, I am grateful for both chambers of the Indiana General Assembly convening to vote on fair maps. Hoosiers deserve to have fair representation in Washington and now the General Assembly needs to deliver a 9-0 map which will help level the playing field.

UPDATE: the sheriff now confirms the driver of the truck hauling a car, 56-year-old Goderdzi Gujabidze has an ICE hold. The mugshot below is when he was first taken into the Boone County jail. The Boone County prosecutor tell us he is still investigating the crash and if Gujabidze will be charged with a crime. Gujabidze has a current address of New York. We are working to confirm if he is a Russian national and being held in the Clay County jail as a source has told me.

Full transparency, I did not know about this section on pages 278-279 of the OBBB that strips states of the right to make laws or regulate AI for 10 years. I am adamantly OPPOSED to this and it is a violation of state rights and I would have voted NO if I had known this was in there. We have no idea what AI will be capable of in the next 10 years and giving it free rein and tying states hands is potentially dangerous. This needs to be stripped out in the Senate. When the OBBB comes back to the House for approval after Senate changes, I will not vote for it with this in it. We should be reducing federal power and preserving state power. Not the other way around. Especially with rapidly developing AI that even the experts warn they have no idea what it may be capable of.
