Democratic Republic of Congo 🇨🇩 is developing its first deep-water port at Banana on the Atlantic coast, led by DP World in partnership with the government. Construction is progressing steadily. Phase one includes a 600-metre quay with 18-metre depth and container storage facilities, designed to handle about 450,000 TEUs per year. The port will give the country direct access to global shipping routes and reduce reliance on neighbouring ports.

Tanzania attracted $1.63 billion of investment in 2023. In 2024, Tanzania attracted $7.7 billion. She attracted $10.9 billion in 2025. Tanzania's 2026 projection is $15 billion. Tanzania may not be dreaming about their 2050 vision. They are doing something differently.

I attended the special sitting of Parliament of Uganda held in honour of the late Hon. Hellen Nakimuli. I began my tribute with the words of Scripture from Psalm 11:7: “For the Lord is righteous, He loves justice; the upright will see His face.” Hon. Hellen Nakimuli was a dedicated Member of Parliament who consistently represented her people with commitment and purpose. She was known for her integrity and accountability, actively participated in the legislative process, and always prioritized the needs and interests of her constituents. She served as a committed leader who placed public service above personal gain or partisan interests. Her close connection with the community enabled her to promote development and improve lives, which is a true reflection of why she earned and retained the trust of her people. On behalf of the leadership and supporters of Gen. @mkainerugaba ’s Patriotic League of Uganda, I conveyed our heartfelt condolences to her father, Orthodox priest Rev. Fr. Christopher Walusimbi, the Orthodox Church, the wider community, Parliament, and her immediate family during this difficult time. I also expressed appreciation to the Rt. Hon. Speaker @AnitahAmong and her family for her kindness in sponsoring the young girl’s education up to Senior Four a gesture that reflects compassion and leadership beyond duty. I concluded with the comforting words from John 11:25: “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.” May her soul rest in eternal peace.
