During re-entry, the spacecraft is moving super fast, around 25,000 mph. At that speed, the air around it gets hotter than lava. The astronauts are protected by a special heat shield, and it has to work perfectly.

@acoolrocket @MayaModez it is a trade of effort to support vs the loss of functionality and in the case of .obj the effort is incredibly low vs still being of use to some people using blender. dae was a security risk. .obj is doing no harm being there.

@ZealousQuakeFan @MayaModez So you just admitted its too niche for most to care and continue including in future updates? At this point I can vouch game modding formats like .nif for the Fallout series are more relevant even with addons existing to import/export.

@acoolrocket @MayaModez .obj is no use to artists but it is still useful for programmers, being such a simple format to parse and manipulate. And it doesn't have the bloat of dae to make support of it a chore.

@MayaModez Feeling spicy by saying .obj deserves the same and you're forced to install an addon to use it. A 3D model format that needs to export material slot information in a separate file tells all there is for how out of date it is and deserves to die.

@emptycanstudios Nope, I use zero AI in the production of Amygdala: Prelude. All code is either that of the stock Source Engine 2013 SDK, or code we've written ourselves by hand. This particular bug has been in source a very long time, I can reproduce it, but I'm yet to resolve it.

Presenting one of the silliest bugs I've ever found doing QA in a game. Firing an SMG in the janitors closet causes bulletshells ejected from the players weapon to become pipe wrenches if a pipe wrench is visible on the screen when firing.

@AstheniaCraft Enemies attack constantly and also gain haste so attacks come out quicker. They are also more resilient to mistimed counters, its a massive leap from 3 to die, I wish I could just lock the game on 3 permanently tbh :p

#gamedev #screenshotsaturday #godotengine mock up/blockout test for a defend-your-ride-from-a-pursuer sequence. I think the effect works quite well, but needs some better smoothing. Looking out the back is okay but sides/forward is too jerky.
