Some personal news. My mum sadly passed away this afternoon after suffering with dementia for 5 years. In the end it was quick and unexpected . I’m grateful for her love and unconditional support throughout my life. Sleep well mum x

Heavy rain passing through our area later this afternoon and lingering well into the evening. As temperatures fall overnight, some sleet possible early tomorrow morning, but no accumulating snow for us from Storm Goretti.

Two different models 9pm tomorrow the German model with primarily snow and most disruptive snow as far south as south Midlands. And it entertains accumulating snowfall south of M4 further west. Whilst American significantly further north with near continuous snow near Birmingham through N England. It’s impossible to forecast with precision only broadly that parts of Wales and Midlands are highly likely to be involved with disruptive snow risks. There does seem to be greater confidence of back edge wintriness across E/SE on Friday AM sleet and snow the ground will be soaking wet so no accumulation is expected. And any snow will have a high water content big flakes!

The 18z is a shift southward of Thursdays now bringing significant snow across the southern Midlands and into London / southeast England. Would expect the envelope on the potential track to narrow in the next day or two.
