The computer in Minecraft, got bigger! Ryan Boulds recreated real a CPU using redstone logic gates, adders, registers, memory. The build includes over a million blocks and can run arithmetic, comparisons, and even custom programs. He designed machine language to control it.

BIP177 is rolling out for net new customers right now actually!!
Once we finish the experiment and confirm no negative externalities, we will then roll out for our existing customer base.

@rettlerb @bradmillscan @moneyball Hmm, I just sent myself 1 sat from Primal to Cash App using my Cash App Lightning Address. FYI @milessuter, you’re probably aware of this already, but it would be nice if Cash App also used the ₿ symbol here to be in sync with Square displays.

✨The issue with BIP-177 is perception.
If wallets start showing prices like:
“11,000 bitcoins for a coffee” (meaning 11,000 sats)
Normal people won’t know that “bitcoin” in this context refers to the smallest unit.
It looks like:
• Bitcoin got inflated
• Prices exploded
• The system changed
Even though none of that is true.

Square is getting it right. Sats add more confusion to a newcomer. Get rid of the whole coin. 1 sat = 1btc. Now it's time for exchanges and apps to follow suit.

I just bought two coffees and donut holes and paid with bitcoin. I was this stores’ first bitcoin customer. The only problem is calling “sats”“bitcoin”. The merchant was like, “6000 bitcoin?” and he was naturally confused. I hope the Square team will come around and realize using “sats” is far better UX. @milessuter @Square At any rate, amazing progress and terrific product launch. It worked flawlessly.
