The fact that young people talk about nuclear power and never, ever, EVER mention the nuclear waste that is buried all over USA in storage sites that will remain radioactive basically forever and aren’t secured or really “safe”
vivian@vivian39_

nuclear energy is sitting right there. just sitting there. producing massive amounts of clean reliable power with a safety record better than literally every other energy source per kwh. and we're out here arguing about whether to put a solar panel on a parking garage. okay

@OopsGuess @EndWokeness That was a stolen election, with a man with mental issues. A low point in the democracy.

This is humiliating on two levels. America now treats the public humiliation of its own former leader in front of foreign guests as normal political entertainment. Statecraft has been reduced to court theatre. And Takaichi’s reaction is even more revealing. A sovereign leader would keep distance. A subordinate performs along. That is not the posture of an equal ally. It is the posture of a colonial pet trained to match the owner’s mood.

People often don’t realize that you can’t talk to Asians the same way you talk to Europeans or Westerners. There’s a cultural expectation that historical context, respect, and subtlety are treated differently what might seem casual or humorous in the West is deeply offensive in Japan, In Japan, context, respect, and subtlety guide almost every interaction. Unlike in many Western countries, where directness is valued, Japanese communication often relies on reading between the lines.
Adam Schwarz@AdamJSchwarz

Japanese PM Sanae Takaichi's reaction as Trump says "Who knows better about surprise than Japan? Why didn't you tell me about Pearl Habour?" Undoubtedly the worst American diplomatic gaffe in post-war US-Japan history.

@wormboybuck @SatoruBuckley As a non American it seems wild. Anyone can just go up and open it? So when you have something sensitive or important or a new card sent to you it's just left out there for anyone? Surely that makes identity theft so easy lmao

You KiCAD PCB lovers out there. You should show some appreciation to AutoDesk for killing Eagle by purchasing it. The community that currently loves KiCAD previous gave their hearts away to Eagle. I was there, all the entry level hobby beginner PCB guys wanted Eagle. not anymore

If they built highways with magnetic strips in the concrete that allowed you to charge on the go; that would be a game changer. Aren’t the new taxis able to charge magnetically‽

Wait wait wait waaait a second.... He's saying he wants his $500,000 engineer to actually cost him $750,000 by using $250,000 worth of AI tokens. Wasn't AI supposed to make things cheaper, not cost 50% more?
TFTC@TFTC21

Jensen Huang: "If that $500,000 engineer did not consume at least $250,000 worth of tokens, I am going to be deeply alarmed. This is no different than a chip designer who says 'I'm just going to use paper and pencil. I don't think I'm going to need any CAD tools.'"
