I’m glad to be a Java developer with the rise of AI. With LLMs now writing most lines of code, reading will become *even* more important. Java, as a language, was designed to be readable and understandable, easy to reason about (static typing ftw). 🙌🏼

Lemme get this straight… we take an awful programming language, wrap it with something less awful, but use another awful language to do the conversion from less awful to awful, because this awful language is faster than the less awful language.

@arnokoehler @VDL_Groep Yeah 👍🏼 it makes a lot of sense to me, would be good for the job market, the factory is already there, the experience is there as well… I’m not surprised they’re already working on this.

Here’s an idea: we *need* to invest in European defensive manufacturing, perhaps we can repurpose VDL Nedcar? BMW recently reduced it’s production leaving the factories with a lot of excess capacity… Some options: - Military vehicles - UAVs/Airbus parts - ESA parts - Semiconductor parts / EU Chip Act
