In LA, they’re eating the cats and eating the dogs. Well, not quite — but the homeless population are drugging them; beating them; cutting them. Time to take action now before it gets to that point in Austin. Forcibly commit, jail, bus. Cc: @KirkPWatson @joey_tuccio

Homicides in notoriously violent blue cities are dropping fast, but not so much in Austin. Compare homicides in the the five years pre-Covid vs post-Covid: - Baltimore: down 56% - San Francisco: down 49% - D.C.: down 7% - Memphis: down 3% - Austin: UP 32% DA José Garza took office January 2021. Every year of his tenure has had a higher homicide rate than any of the five years before he took office.

In the span of ~3 months, the team @basepowerco has built out operational tools that replace or avoid the purchase of an enormous amount of SaaS. Token costs might actually equal the cost of buying the SaaS, but cost isn't the point. It's the fact that the tools are perfectly tailored to our operations, infinitely customizeable going forward, and tied into our data. A sampling: - Warehouse Management System (WMS) - Manufacturing Execution System - CRM for B2B sales - Material Requirements Planning (MRP) - Sales & Operations Planning tool - Labor crew management, forecasting, and associated vehicles tool - Policy objectives and stakeholders tracker - Countless dashboards for each team The impact that AI has had on our business is incredible.

Mayor Dumbass using every left wing line here. Non-criminal. Refusing administrative warrants (backed by SCOTUS precedent). @KirkPWatson attempted to enact sanctuary status in a state where that is illegal. Follow the law, dick.

Latest #WatsonWire: Politics. Policy. Power. Pain. Since early 2025, I’ve strongly opposed federal actions involving ICE, and I’ve worked to protect Austin residents. In 2017, as State Senator, I fought SB 4, legislation the state uses to interfere with local governments and force cities to waste resources related to ICE. Providing public safety is a primary function of our city government. Lisa Davis, Austin’s Chief of Police, revised the Austin Police Department’s General Orders earlier this year to address over 700,000 non-criminal administrative warrants put into the National Crime Information Center database in 2025. These documents authorize ICE agents to make civil arrests but aren’t judicial warrants signed by a neutral judge. They’re documents signed by a federal agency official. The Chief’s orders were a common-sense policing approach that maximized the city’s limited resources to assure officers can best meet Austin’s public safety needs and to provide clarity to officers encountering the non-criminal ICE documents. The revised orders were consistent with state requirements, including SB4. Read more: bit.ly/4226tzZ

Austin Police say they've arrested 24 year-old, Wesley Brown, in connection to the shooting in E Austin last night. He's being charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Police say a fight between two people escalated into a shooting where 6 bystanders were shot and injured. Police say all of them are in stable connection. @cbsaustin

@bobbyfijan East of 35 in Austin, we see poorly rated schools with a dominant population of ESL and ELL students. This imposes a tremendous burden on educators and makes quality education difficult to achieve. Creativity has little to do with it.

The problem is that there are are no good elementary schools in the downtowns of Dallas, Austin, San Antonio and Houston So if there is going to be a renaissance of those places, it will need to start with the "Creative Class"

@upstatefederlst @380kmh I don’t have an issue with suburbs necessarily. They serve a real purpose in cities like Boston, Chicago, DC, etc. I think in Texas, however, the cart has gotten in front of the horse. Dallas and Houston downtowns are dying while suburbs are exploding. That’s not how it should be

@cost_of_bums @Adi13 Why are felonious criminals being let out to kill — and — create havok in our streets? @austintexasgov @KirkPWatson? Are the jails full? If so, the city should be seeking death penalties for violent repeat offenders to make room. Stop releasing them. We are tired.

@KirkPWatson Why are we strongly opposing ICE? The American people voted for the removal of criminal illegals aliens. Please don’t kowtow to certain murderous elements to try and please them. Stand by the citizenry.
