@signulll genuinely good filter. sarcasm requires knowing what the person actually meant vs what they literally said. context, tone, history. AI gets the words, misses everything underneath

Is it possible I used Claude Code so much somehow my USB-C connectors burned out on my MacBook Pro? Two of mine are dead and won’t charge and now the third maxes out at 15 watts Now I am afraid my code tamagotchi is about to die

man calm down. take a rest. let's take it slowly. we don't need another tool for claude code. let's just have some coffee and go to sleep. too much is happening at once.

try setting an older date on your phone system settings. you'll see weird things happen to apps and features after around 10-15 mins. set mine to 2023 to test old version of an app, forgot about it. internet starting going crazy, wifi down, apps showing ssl error. i weirded out for a while, then remembered. the outcome is obvious i know, but it gave me an insight into how temporal our infra is, and needs to be.

The lesson of Substack is that people want to support each other in the concrete, not in the abstract.

That happened to me today. I have a button on the app, asked Claude to add a keyboard shortcut. It duplicated the handler implementation instead of calling the same handler as the button. Later I asked to change the function, and behavior ended up inconsistent between button and shortcut.

Claude is great at coding. Like really, really good, compared to using a regular LLM like Gemini. There's only one issue with it. Because it never sees the full code of the app but uses grep search for relevant code snippets, it's myopic. If grep returns a fragment of code similar to the bug description, it often doesn't look further and fixes an irrelevant part of the app or answers a question based on these fragments found by grep. So, as the codebase grows, it becomes important for the user to know the codebase. Otherwise, Claude will reinvent the bicycle over and over again, creating duplicate implementations for the same functionalities in different places in the app. This issue is probably fixable with additional finetuning, but right now this is how it works.

@aaalexhl it is the cc version update. i downgraded it back to 2.1.7 after it auto-updated to 2.1.19 which felt so bad. i am not sure if its back at its best but the basic todos it failed on .19, it finished well on .7

for me it's removing the step between internal thinking to external journaling, which is more efficient and output driven. I go from a faint idea to a clear strategy quicker than before. but it's always me who's the director, the strategist, the decision maker and owner. no the other way around which is neither efficient or any good.
