The problem: the Iran war has caused gas prices to go up, and Canadians across the country are feeling the pinch at the pumps. Our government believes Canadians shouldn't pay for events they didn't cause.  The solution: as of next week, we are suspending the federal Fuel Excise Tax on gasoline and diesel. This will save Canadians 10 cents per litre on gasoline and 4 cents on diesel. For the short term, this tax cut will save Canadians money amidst serious price volatility. For the long term, we are simultaneously working to build projects that make Canadian energy more sovereign for customers at home, and more available to stabilize global market prices abroad.
