@plan4reality @coco___bongo @RLHeinrichs The second Iran shot missiles at Diego Garcia they showed they had capabilities that they otherwise said they didn't have nor didn't have interest, its own stated goals were to middle east affairs only. Those could reach the EU, how much longer until they reached the US?

@plan4reality @John_ProductDev @RLHeinrichs Here's an example of the duplicity of the Iranian regime. They promised to only develop ballistic missiles to a 2000 mile range. Just recently they fired off a missile that reached Diego Garcia - 4000 miles away. Once they attain a nuclear bomb - then that's mainland Europe.

@coco___bongo @John_ProductDev @RLHeinrichs Iran had no ICBMs, no nuclear warheads, & a deal on the table. Trump needlessly started a war — with no exit, a closed strait, & a global recession — to stop an attack that every intelligence agency said wasn't happening. What would it take for you to admit Trump has no plan?

@coco___bongo @John_ProductDev @RLHeinrichs 3-6 months of Hormuz closed = global recession. 20% of world oil through that strait. You're cheering a war with no exit while your gas, groceries and 401k take the hit. That's not courage. That's someone else paying for your bumper sticker.

@coco___bongo @John_ProductDev @RLHeinrichs Nuclear programme 'destroyed'? Trump said that last June too. Then they had enough for 11 bombs by February. The strait's been 'almost open' for weeks. At some point, maybe stop believing the guy who also said Mexico would pay for the wall.

Very interesting video sociologically. I think the point that was so powerfully made in Robert Putnam’s book Bowling Alone about the breakdown of social capital in the US culture is in many ways answered by religious communities (almost regardless of the truth claims that underly that community). Now I do find the truth claims of Mormonism severely lacking and ultimately false and I’m also sure (without knowing any details) that there are human abuses in the system. But the human organization is actually fascinating and instructive (we actually live in a neighborhood that has a lot of Mormons). We get into trouble when we become utilitarian and simply look at outcomes - but this is an interesting discussion.

@plan4reality @John_ProductDev @RLHeinrichs Hubris - look it up and then look in the mirror. The US took care of an emerging crisis very well. It took courage to destroy Iran's nuclear weapon programme. Something no other president had the courage to do. The straits will be open in 3-6 months.

@John_ProductDev @RLHeinrichs At least operation Epic Fail should have the grace to achieve objectives like reopening the strait or capturing and destroying the nuclear materials . I still wonder if Donald and Pete know their arse from their elbow & can dress themselves in the morning.

@RLHeinrichs That international waterway was functioning just fine until some amateur hour clowns decided to get involved. Now they’re scuttling away leaving the mess for others to clear up while no doubt claiming victory - which remarkably some morons will believe occurred.

@kvistp @TianaTheFirst So the allies have rejected the US using it's bases. The US has all the more reason to establish it's own bases overseas. It's absolutely rational.

@SF2Maui @TianaTheFirst 1) Not consulted, as it required secrecy. The allies were not reliable enough. 2) An existential threat from Iran, once nuclear was attained, it would hold the ME hostage. 3) Iran is the aggressor nation, deliberately hiding nuclear weapon agenda.

@TianaTheFirst NATO does not support aggressor nations that start wars. The United States did not consult NATO. The United States did not include NATO. Why should NATO support an unsanctioned politically motivated war?!

@SteelJustise @TianaTheFirst Wait a few months... In the light of European intransigence regarding use of their bases, it's become even more important that the US establishes permanent bases offshore.

@TianaTheFirst Yeah! Trump was definitely right to almost start a war with NATO over a fake issue because he wanted to create this cool “greater N. America” his buddies told him about. He’s already moved on (no more talk of Greenland or Canada as 51st). You should move on too.

@SG_Gooner1970 @riachi_jean And yet God in His sovereignty rules the hearts of men, and controls the outcome of all things, all without violating our real choices. This tension is stated without apology or explanation in scripture. Proverbs 16:9 A person plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps.

What is striking today is Europe’s blindness. While the United States confronts a regime that is not driven by ordinary strategic calculations, Europe hesitates, equivocates, and hides behind a façade of prudence. This is not a Cold War–style ideological rivalry. We are dealing with a regime whose worldview is deeply shaped by a theological and eschatological dimension, where political decisions are intertwined with a belief in a quasi-divine mission. Treating such an actor as if it were a purely rational state is a fundamental mistake. History shows that inaction in the face of regimes driven by absolute conviction does not prevent conflict, it only postpones it and makes it worse. Refusing to support the United States today is choosing short-term comfort over long-term security.
Department of State@StateDept

SECRETARY RUBIO: NATO wasn’t just about defending Europe, but allowing us to have military bases in Europe for our national security. If we’ve reached a point where the NATO alliance means that we can’t use those bases to defend our interests, then it’s a one-way street.

@riachi_jean Well said. The eschatological imperative is behind the chaotic missile firing, and is completely misread by the secular West. In their hardline IRGC Iranian view, the 12th imam -the Islamic messiah - Muhammad al-Mahdi's return can be hastened through chaos and destruction.

@TimeFreedomROB Expect Enigma SN63 to outperform in the next 3 years as Quantum Computing narrative starts to grow and then explode. Quantum Computers are slated to be viable in 2030 so the hype will only grow, and SN63's Quantum subnet will be printing x's along the way.

President Trump appears to confirm our story this morning, telling countries to “go to the Strait, and just TAKE IT. You’ll have to start learning to fight for yourself, the U.S.A. won’t be there to help you anymore.”

NEW: Trump told aides he’s willing to end the U.S. military campaign against Iran even if the Strait of Hormuz remains largely closed, administration officials said, likely extending Tehran’s firm grip on the waterway and leaving a complex operation to reopen it for a later date.
