Singing Vande Mataram (original version with all six stanzas) was made mandatory at all Government functions through an order of the Home Ministry on 6th February this year. So whichever Government was sworn in this would have been done.

Reports are coming in that C.V. Shanmugam is leading a group of about 37-41 MLAs who will be extending their support to TVK. With those kinds of numbers, the Anti-Defection Law won't apply, paving the way for a stable TVK Govt for the foreseeable future. Also, the word is that S.P. Velumani l in all probability will take over as the Floor Leader, while the party itself may go under the leadership of C. Vijayabhaskar for now.
