I've been doing this work for over a decade... I've sat with Entrepreneurs, Athletes, Execs, in some of the top ventures in the world. They carry mindsets and ways of going about work/life that few have access to. So I'm dropping a Newsletter. 1/ drgurner.substack.com

@drgurner It would fail. The economy would collapse and the deficit would widen back way past 3%

Warren Buffett's plan to eliminate the deficit sounds good about now: "I could end the deficit in five minutes. You just pass a law that says that any time there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for reelection.”

Every AI CEO has promised to cure disease. They are LYING. Not because the AI is bad. Because the data doesn’t exist. The entire industry trains models on snapshots of dead cells in mice. That’s why 90% of drugs fail in humans. The FDA just told pharma to replace animal testing in 3-5 years. There is no replacement at scale. No one knows where to go. We are where you go. We built the instrument that captures what actually happens inside living human cells when you add a drug. Data that has never existed before. Data that will be what cures cancer and autoimmune and dementias. Every drug we screen trains a foundation model. The model gets smarter. The data compounds. the same biology that predicts toxicity reveals novel drug targets. entire classes of disease that are undruggable today because nobody could see them. We’re not an AI company making promises, we are making this problem actually solvable. We’re the data layer that makes everyone else’s promises real.

“If you actually care about making an impact, you have a responsibility to get rich. Because when good people have money, the world changes.” - Zac Spencer Every time you “opt out” of your potential, you don't just hurt yourself & your family, but any cause you care about.

@drgurner Yep. Unfortunately those responsible for making that decision would never hold themselves accountable. Until then we’ll have to vote accordingly.

@drgurner I told this to my best friend growing up. He’s a socialist now and didn’t understand what I was talking about apparently.

@drgurner money amplifies impact, yes. but getting rich is only useful if your values survive the process.

@ggreenwald Always a good metric for principle is: "If this were done by the opposite side of the aisle, would I still support it?" The answer should always be yes. Otherwise it is not a decision of principle.

If Biden or Kamala had won, and started a serious war with Iran, and asked Congress for $200 billion in the first 3 weeks, every single MAGA influencer would be calling them warmongers and demanding impeachment. Neocons would be happy, but the MAGA influencers would be enraged.
Cenk Uygur@cenkuygur

You should be absolutely furious about this $200 billion ask for the war. I guarantee you if you asked for $200 billion in health care or food for American people, you'd be laughed out of Congress. There's no money for that! But as soon as Israel asks, it'll fly through Congress.

@drgurner @paulg Owning vintage watches is the best… I have had some amazing vintage jaeger lecoultres. Only drawback… can be tough to keep perfect working conditions. It’s a labor of love though! 🥰

There's a vintage watch dealer in London (Somlo) that always has watches in amazing condition. 60 year old watches that seem unworn. I asked the owner how he does it. He said they've been around a long time and always pay promptly, so they get first look.

@noahkagan If you don't need the money, it's very true that it becomes less of a driver. Reducing hassle can be far more important.

The older I get the less money I want to make. And it's more I want less BS to deal with in my life. My old house was on AirBnB - took it off and put it up for long-term rental. Weekly complaints, city taxes, annoying my neighbors, etc...oy vey. Just rented it out for long-term today. And as it turns out long-term rental makes more money! Go figure.

69 acres of private Tuscany for €690k ($797k). The land includes an olive grove, a fruit orchard, a cork oak grove and 20 hectares of woodland. A natural spring produces 3,000 litres of water a day, solar panels cover the electricity and yes, it does have wifi. It's also been renovated, 370m² (3,983 sq ft) across 3 floors, 3 beds, 3 baths, with a pool and a sauna. 50 km to Volterra. Off-grid, self-sufficient, sauna, pool..what's missing here?

Anyone still chewing gum? That chewy part that never gets smaller is a plastic polymer. That same polymer can also be found in plastic bags, glue and tires. A 2025 UCLA has shown that chewing gum releases hundreds to thousands of microplastics into your saliva per piece. I highly recommend you stop chewing plastic.
