Hegseth: "We're still dealing with the environment Joe Biden created—depleting our stockpiles and sending them to Ukraine instead of our own military. Every time we face a challenge, it traces back to 'Well, sent it to Ukraine.'" It looks like they’re just going to blame Ukraine whenever anything goes wrong now, doesn’t it? It’s depressing to watch because while this administration will eventually leave office, a segment of Americans will keep hating Ukraine without even remembering why.

@AnnaRMatson I always liked Gabbard but she made a terrible decision to join Trump's cabinet in a relatively low profile position. No chance to shine like Rubio (at times) yet sullied by her proximity to a failed presidency. With luck, Trump will turns things around or she'll find an exit.

Tulsi Gabbard is in a tough spot if she wants to run for president one day. If she resigns from Trump’s admin, she will likely lose a primary. Primary elections are decided by the fringe of each party. The fringe right only cares about loyalty to President Trump above all logic and reason and stepping down will be seen as a betrayal. If she stays, it will be difficult for her to win a general election where the moderates and the independents decide the election. But at what point do you stop playing the game and focus on your own morals? Is it worth it to go against your ethics to maybe be president one day and change things at the top? Or is it worth it to step down, hold onto your ethics, and possibly end your political career? I just know that I wouldn’t want to be in her shoes today.

It’s amateur hour for the politicians at the Pentagon and White House in charge of this war. This is not a video game. And there is absolutely no excuse for the Trump operation to dishonor this nation by raising campaign money off the images of our war dead.

@eye95 @DesireeAmerica4 @grok The rules of life, the dos and donts, must be made clear. People will modify their behavior to keep their jobs and avoid arrest but they have to know where the line is drawn. Who knew SC would call the FBI? And what if she had typed, "strangle" instead of "shoot"?

.@grok, do we know the full content of the post? Folks have said that it contained the word shoot, but context is important. Examples: “Shoot. That little bugger behaved so badly.” The word shoot is an expletive. Investigation would be pointless. “I could just shoot that little bugger.” This would create reasonable suspicion, warranting a detention and investigation. Intent would be dispositive. “If he ever does this again, I will literally shoot him.” That would be a prosecutable threat. So, do we have the context?

EVER WONDER WHAT HAPPENED TO THE TEACHER ARRESTED BY SNAPCHAT'S AI? Because she jokingly typed the word "shoot" in a private snap to a friend, Snapchat flagged her account and sent the message directly to the FBI. The FBI then had a local sheriff's Deputy show up at her school. Well, here is what eventually happened. She was physically pulled out of her elementary school and taken straight to the Tazewell County Jail, where she was officially booked for disorderly conduct. After interrogating her, the deputies actually admitted on the record that she made the comment purely out of "exasperation." They confirmed she had absolutely zero intent to harm anyone and was never a threat to the school. But even though the cops admitted she wasn't a danger and no formal charges were ever filed, her career still took a massive hit. The school district superintendent sent a letter to parents terminating her entirely, stating she would not be allowed to return to finish her assignment. If a regular person ruined someone's career with a false police report, they would be sued into oblivion. So when exactly does Snapchat get held accountable for this? 🤷🏼‍♀️

The American Embassy is being evacuated in Riyadh because of sustained attacks by Iran against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is my understanding the Kingdom refuses to use their capable military as a part of an effort to end the barbaric and terrorist Iranian regime who has terrorized the region and killed 7 Americans. Question – why should America do a defense agreement with a country like the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that is unwilling to join a fight of mutual interest? Americans are dying and the U.S. is spending billions to dislodge the terrorist Iranian regime that threatens the region. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia seems to be issuing statements and doing things in the background that are marginally helpful, but unwilling to participate in military operations to end the reign of terror coming out of Iran. Hopefully Gulf Cooperation Council countries will get more involved as this fight is in their backyard. If you are not willing to use your military now, when are you willing to use it? Hopefully this changes soon. If not, consequences will follow. nytimes.com/2026/03/08/wor…

Your phony outrage about protecting victims is as fraudulent as your girl-from-the-Bronx act. You voted to protect the cover-up. You voted to shield predators. Your fake concern for victims’ privacy, which you cannot factually back up, doesn't change what you voted for. Own it.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez@AOC

The idea is good but the text itself was rushed and not thought through. It violated a lot of standard practices to protect survivors and due process: 1. It also released documents related to allegations found to be false or unsubstantiated, not just verified violations or settlements. So innocent people would get lumped in with violators. 2. To our knowledge, there was zero victim consent or consultation on this text. That is very different than with Epstein, where victims are centered and consulted at every step. Here, victims offered all their statements with the promise of protection and anonymity. The text gave them no way to have a voice in what information of theirs or their accounts they wanted public or keep private. That is important because… 3. Although there was a throwaway line about redacting victim names, I do believe full witness or victim statements would have been released. With the way employment at the House works (offices are small, time periods of staff employment are publicly disclosed, etc) it means that even with names redacted you can definitely track details in witness statements and use that to ID victims without their consent. And there was zero mechanism for victims themselves to assert their privacy. Originally we were supposed to debate the details of the text over two days but for some reason they rushed the vote so we couldn’t iron out any of these details to get this information properly disclosed in a way that guarantees victim safety. If the text was clean I think you’d get a lot more support. As a survivor, I know why the vast majority of women never report at all and a lot of those reasons, even if unintentionally or inadvertently, were included here. For me at least, guaranteeing the safety and agency of victims and survivors would get me to a YES.

“The whole MAGA movement was an epic sham.” “There is no America First.” “This is Israel First.” This independent journalist just dropped a bombshell from inside Trump’s inner circle on Tim Dillon. “It’s like an authoritarian dictatorship.” “Tulsi Gabbard is the embodiment of what happened to the isolationist wing of the MAGA movement when this second Trump administration came to power.” “These guys are completely sidelined.” Jeremy Scahill’s reporting for Drop Site News will shock you: “The other day, I was talking to Daniel Davis, who … was supposed to be one of Tulsi Gabbard’s deputies in this administration.” “He still maintains contact with some people.” “He said, there’s only a handful of sane people left in [Trump’s] inner circle when it comes to … national security or specifically, with this Iran war.” “And that … it’s not welcome to sort of be giving contrary views.” “You’re gonna be viewed as disloyal.” “You could play clip after clip of Tulsi Gabbard explaining very articulately what’s wrong with these kinds of wars.” “She has nothing to do with this stuff.” “And if she’s allowed to speak publicly, she needs to toe the party line.” “That’s the reality of this administration.” “There is no isolationist wing of this administration.” @TimJDillon @ryangrim @jeremyscahill

I’m sorry, but I disagree with this decision. We seem to operate under the assumption that physicians are responsible for fixing every aspect of society, which is unrealistic. First, we already have trained professionals in nutrition—dietitians. Yet we consistently underpay them and fail to provide adequate access to their services. While physicians receiving 40 hours of nutrition education isn’t inherently a bad idea, delivering the behavioral interventions required to meaningfully change diet often takes hours of patient engagement. In the current system, many physicians are fortunate if they can spend 5–10 minutes with a patient a few times per year. The problem is not that people are unaware they should eat more fruits and vegetables. The larger issue is that the food system itself heavily subsidizes and incentivizes highly processed foods. Structural changes to that system would likely have a far greater impact than physicians repeatedly telling patients to eat more fruits and vegetables. At some point, we need to acknowledge the limits of what can realistically be addressed within a brief clinical encounter. It’s all so exhausting.
Secretary Kennedy@SecKennedy

.@EDSecMcMahon and I announced that, starting this fall, 53 medical schools across 31 states will deliver at least 40 hours of nutrition education during undergraduate medical training. This landmark reform will transform medical education, equip future physicians to prevent and treat chronic disease, and advance @POTUS’s commitment to end the chronic disease epidemic.
