ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A man, 42, is recovering after Rochester Police say his hand was chopped off at the corner of Clifford and Joseph avenues on Sunday night. Officers say they arrived in the area around 8:20 p.m. and found the victim, immediately applying a tourniquet to his severed hand. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital and rushed into surgery. Police say thanks to the to tourniquet, his injury was no longer life-threatening. Investigators went into a nearby apartment, where they say they found evidence of shots fired from an AR-style rifle. Investigators also say a 12 inch fixed blade knife was recovered from the scene. No suspects are in custody. The investigation is still active and anyone with information is asked to call 911.

Dashcam video shows moments before Anderson deputy shot, suspect killed on I-85 Anderson County, SC - Dashcam video released by SLED, Monday, June 22, shows the moments leading up to an exchange of gunfire that left an Anderson County deputy injured and a suspect dead earlier this year. The footage, captures the April 20 incident on Interstate 85 northbound. The video begins with deputies and the suspect’s vehicle pulled over on the side of the highway at Exit 11 near Highway 24 and Highway 243 near Townville. Investigators said the suspect was initially in the back of the deputy’s vehicle before attempting to escape. The dashcam video shows the moments after, when the suspect and deputies were struggling. The officers then used their tasers. The video shows the suspect making it back to his car, and that is when the shooting occurred. The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Austin Robertson of Pennsylvania, died in the shooting. The injured deputy, Alex Albrech, was airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital and was released a week later after undergoing several surgeries.
