Problem here for me personally -
Nothing Xbox can say, do, or provide, will ever get me to invest in their ecosystem ever again.
The last 15 years has been lackluster, embarrassing, idiotic, full of lies, awful grifting community, etc.
Make all the exclusives you want. 🤷♂️
@JezCorden These rumors are false. Gears of War: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution will stay exclusive. There are no conversations and have been no conversations to "reverse course." And as we said last week, players can continue to expect signature exclusives from us every year.
It's fanfic that Microsoft wants to "reverse course" on Xbox exclusives right now, or that it was some kind of weird PR slight of hand just for the showcase.
Exclusive games is a foundation of the strategy for post memory crisis.
Just how far they go with it remains to be seen... obviously. Microsoft/Satya likes to change strategy and create uncertainty a lot.
surprising, to say the least, to see Microsoft admit this publicly. Some harsh truths in Asha's memo about the reality of how the Xbox business has been managed
> Ninja Theory announces their new Seuna game at Xbox games showcase
>8 days later, Xbox is reportedly planning on shutting the studio down
How does this even happen??
The Verge is reporting that Ninja Theory was told on a call they will be closed down and are now hoping for a buyer.
Xbox is officially the grimiest company.
You use them to pad your showcase with a trailer and then close them a week later. Pound sand, Microsoft.
@The_CrapGamer@wakeydog@XboxTimdog Not let's see how much they actually get back in profit margins. I'm sure the operating expenses on servers and publishers is high.
@wakeydog@XboxTimdog Have you not kept up with the leaks? Game Pass HELPED save a bunch of other areas of Xbox. They tried to raise prices to continue saving areas once COD failed and it backfired. Game Pass at 40+ million is almost a billion every month.
@yoxics Celebrating a Knicks win from a jail cell is already a wild story but turning on your cameraman the second you're out is even crazier The real drama started after the release not the arrest.
Nina Lin went on a HEATED rant crashing out on NYPD and her cameraman after being released from jail 😳
“I celebrated the Knicks win in a cell.. B*tch how are you a cameraman and run off.. why would you p*ssy out, cameramen don’t d*e”
@Bleedgreen92bby@charlieINTEL That'll be revenue, not profit. They'll need standalone profit from games selling, you have to keep in mind that they have to pay these publishers to continue to keep their games on game pass.
@charlieINTEL Gamepass isn't sustainable but they keep doubling down on it. With gears e day, if 25 million subs alone generates 575 Million at 23$ a piece, add in the people who are gonna buy it, ppl who gonna pay for 30$ upgrade then the ppl on steam. Gow e day gonna be fine
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella on the state of Xbox:
"We've invested a lot for the last 25 years. We have to turn this into a sustainable business. The challenge we have is, we've not been monetizing that entertainment. In fact, we've been subsidizing that entertainment."
@charlieINTEL People automatically associating this with gamepass, gamepass is actually the most profitable thing about Xbox. It's a reason it never gets mentioned directly by name.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella says Xbox needs to become a more sustainable business after 25 years of heavy investment.
Nadella said Microsoft has spent decades building Xbox but has not fully turned that entertainment into profits.
“We’ve invested a lot for the last 25 years. Now we have to turn this into a sustainable business,” he said.
Nadella added that Microsoft has often been subsidizing Xbox rather than properly monetizing it, joking that “there’s more monetization of Xbox games happening on YouTube than at Microsoft.”
